After a dark week for the developmental brand of WWE, we’ve got an idea as to Triple H’s reaction to those NXT cuts. Plus, WALTER is set to be working his final match…in NXT UK.
Triple H’s Reaction To NXT Cuts
The man has been quiet since his health scare last year, but now we’ve got Triple H’s reaction to NXT cuts.
Not exactly an official statement, of course.
In that sense, Triple H has maintained radio silence.
However, in a roundabout way, we’ve got Triple H’s reaction to the cuts…and it’s about what you’d expect.
Per a report out of the Pro Wrestling Torch, Triple H was bummed about the recent NXT cuts.
The report went on to note that it was less about what Triple H said, and more about his general mood.
That Triple H would be bummed is understandable.
NXT in it’s original and most successful form was effectively Hunter’s baby.
He, along with a team of people he had worked with and in some cases hand-picked, gave fans an exciting 3rd brand within WWE.
However, as many have pointed out, last week’s NXT cuts, either intentionally or not, targeted Hunter’s guys.
Triple H was close with Steven Regal, Gabe Sapolsky, Road Dogg and Samoa Joe.
All are now gone.
It wasn’t that long ago when many expected that Hunter would bring his NXT magic to the main roster, whenever his father-in-law decided to step down.
Now, that possibility is far less certain.
Nick Khan is pulling a lot of strings, and it seems like he would be the next in line now.
That Triple H would be disappointed or bummed about the cuts is reasonable, considering the work he did for the brand.
WALTER Working Final Match
It was noted during the first NXT broadcast of 2022 that WALTER will be working his final match this week.
Sort of.
So where’s the catch?
WALTER will be working his final NXT UK match this week, as the company is letting him have a farewell bout of sorts.
However, it is not going to be WALTER’s final match in WWE.
Instead, by WALTER working his final match in NXT UK…he will be heading to a place he used to say he’d never end up.
That is, to work in the United States for WWE.
For the immediate future, WALTER will be working in NXT alongside the rest of Imperium.
Given his resume and level of talent, it is at least worth wondering: how long will he remain in NXT?
Now that the Superstar has made the choice to move to the US, it opens up a lot of possibilities.
Given the NXT 2.0 youth movement, does WALTER and his experience even fit?
Or, would WWE opt to make him one of the surprise entrants in the 2022 Royal Rumble?
And could such a move open the door to a leap up to the main roster, either for RAW or SmackDown?
For years, he resisted a move to WWE and the United States. Things have changed, and it will be interesting to see what WWE does with WALTER moving forward.
