Viral Petition! Let’s Bring Chick-fil-A To U.S. Military Bases

Chick-fil-A loves our military and our men and women in uniform love them back, so it only makes sense that a petition calling on the chicken chain to open franchises on U.S. military bases has gone viral.

Started by Emily Carby, a senior airman at Colorado’s Buckley Air Force Base, the petition argues that Chick-fil-A should open stores on military bases because it’s “one of the most wholesome, happy and beloved fast food chains to exist in America today,” and the chain’s presence would both raise soldiers’ morale and offer healthier and more varied options for food on-base:

An encounter on any given day within a Chick-Fil-A restaurant is full of manners, smiles and “my pleasure”’s, which could raise the morale and warm the black hearts of even the crustiest.

Their ice cream machine is never broken.

Never have I seen a cancerous, viral fight video leaked to WORLDSTAR involving any of their employees.

Also, when have you ever met someone who didn’t like Chick-Fil-A?

Exactly.

Carby has it exactly right. Unlike the vast majority of other fast food chains, Chick-fil-A espouses principles of hard work and moral values that ring true with many members of the American military. Truly, it’s a wonder they don’t already have a presence on military installations throughout the country.

Currently, a total of 2,200 name-brand restaurants – including Subway, Church’s Chicken, and Captain D’s – can be found on U.S. military bases; although, Carby writes that Subway “typically includes a 30 minutes wait time in line since it is the only healthier option available.”

Carby adds, “Though this seems like a minute issue, I believe the signatures on this petition will speak for themselves in regards to how many members agree with this proposition.”

Indeed, as of this writing, the petition has garnered nearly 60,000 signatures.

Unfortunately, a Chick-fil-A spokesperson issued a statement that, despite the demand, the chain has “no plans to expand onto military bases at this time.”

“We will continue to look for ways to serve great food and remarkable service while supporting the military locally with events such as Military Appreciation Night, in-restaurant commemorations and more,” the statement added.

However, Chick-fil-A is known to give the people what they want. Don’t be surprised if and when America’s favorite fast food restaurant comes to a military base near you.
