It’s another RAW In A Nutshell, and the path to Saturday’s WarGames hits Albany on this fine Monday.
Or, put it another way…this is our RAW go home show.
The path to WarGames has been full of some twists and turns…and Boston is in sight.
We have all ten male Superstars confirmed. Will we know the final female Superstar by night’s end?
While there are those probably hoping for a Sasha Banks surprise in her home town, the truth is…it could be anyone.
I don’t know that we do find out tonight, but I know I am riveted to the screen in the hopes of finding out.
Outside of our WarGames matches, there is still a full card for this year’s Survivor Series.
AJ Styles and Finn Balor for one. Something involving the United States title, for another.
Will we have more clarity by the end of the show? I would bet on it.
No point in delaying the inevitable right?
It’s time for…
Let’s crack open this Nutshell and see how things go!
Starting off a show hot is always fun.
The hot start this time around? That would be the Brawling Brutes against Judgement Day.
Hard hitting match, going a long way toward building up a few matches on the Survivor Series card.
The women in the main event delivered, too.
Omos and Johnny Wrestling.
I mean…I love Johnny…but not even he can make me like that match.
Omos needs something. He’s missing something.
Not even MVP can pull him up, I don’t think.
Going to give this to Asuka and Rhea Ripley.
I could have given it to anyone involved in our opening, but this match mattered more.
Specifically, the winner got the advantage in their WarGames bout on Saturday.
And, that winner would be Rhea.
Personally, Sheamus caving in Dom’s chest was fun to watch.
Otherwise, not a spot, but I will take the brawl outside between Judgement Day and The OC.
I feel like this is Ali’s.
First, he suffered the loss to Austin Theory.
And then…this…
Elias and Riddle over Alpha Academy was, at least, positioned as an upset.
We all clamored for certain reboots with the rise of Triple H.
Fixing gimmicks like Nikki Cross? Yes, on the list.
How many of us forgot about Akira Tozawa? The Superstar had become a walking 24/7 joke, but gone is the old joke.
Glad he’s going back to what helped him make a name for himself.
Not used to saying this, but that leap by Johnny Wrestling off the top rope into Omos’ waiting hand? Just looked too obvious.
That, and that whole outfit for Omos. Surely that was so bad that someone botched it, right?
Also…there are crossed lines somewhere, right?
Mia Yim came back, but we’ve since heard that she’d be going by Michin.
Yet, both Graves and Patrick in short order called her Mia Yim.
Then again, so did Rhea…so maybe the WWE website got it wrong?
While Tozawa might have changed his duds and all…he can still get us to laugh.
Watching Judgement Day and The OC brawl…there is enough tension there to have had THEM in a WarGames match, if not a first for a traditional Survivor Series match.
That is…inter-gender. But alas…a missed opportunity.
Happy to see her back…but let’s just stick with Mia Yim, OK?
I came in to RAW expecting the final member of Team Belair to be revealed.
However…we have to wait until Friday.
That either means it is someone big (Sasha Banks) or someone on SmackDown (Liv Morgan).
There’s more to come out of OC, Judgement Day and The Brawling Brutes. At least, it sure felt that way after the first hour.
I mean, I think I’ve said it more than once in this column that there could be a traditional Survivor Series match…but thus far…nothing.
Not the best RAW we’ve seen in the last three or four months, but still better than the first half of the year.
And…while it was somewhat under the radar….Seth Rollins continues being brilliant.
Will he leave Boston with the title?
There is now just a single go-home show remaining.
SmackDown will give us the men’s WarGames advantage match, and also the reveal of Belair’s #5.
Should be a pretty big show ahead of Saturday’s Survivor Series: WarGames.
