The 2022 Survivor Series is just over a week away. As the card continues to build up, a new report states a key WWE talent could miss the event due to injury.

Talent May Miss Survivor Series

The RAW women’s team is building momentum after last night’s episode. Mia Yim joined Alexa Bliss, Asuka, and Bianca Belair for their WarGames bout set to take place on Saturday, November 26th.

During a recent Wrestling Observer Radio show, Dave Melter talks about Candice LeRae and her possible involvement in this year’s Survivor Series. He notes that she was “slated” for the women’s WarGames match, but that may no longer be the case.

Meltzer states that LeRae could be injured. She was “earmarked” for the group, but now has an injury angle.

Candice was an obvious option for the RAW Women’s team. However, she hasn’t participated in the squared circle since the October 17th edition of Monday Night RAW.

More On The WWE Talent Who May Miss Survivor Series

In her last RAW match, she was part of a Tag Team Championship bout with Bianca. The two lost to Damage CTRL.

The week prior, Candice also lost to Bayley. Unless the WWE is setting LeRae up to be a “surprise” entrant that night, her involvement in Survivor Series seems up in the air, right now.

Over to other WWE news, Austin Theory just loves his selfies. With that said, is he dropping this gimmick?

Austin Theory Gimmick Dropped

This week’s RAW saw Theory battle Dolph Ziggler. The two went toe-to-toe until Austin snapped.

Ziggler got hit with two A-Town Downs, back to back, from Theory. Austin then threw the WWE veteran out of the ring, then onto the steel steps.

Austin was aggressive with a beatdown on Ziggler until security intervened. Are fans witnessing a transition of character for this superstar?

Time For A Theory Reset

Dave Meltzer also chats about Austin Theory during his latest Wrestling Observer Radio. He believes the WWE is trying to “reset” the Austin Theory gimmick.

Meltzer states that if the company wants Theory to be a “top star”, his current gimmick needs to change. Thus, Dave notes, the star has to say, “buh-bye” to those selfie spots.

Meltzer notes the WWE is likely trying to “dump” the selfie shtick, and try and make Theory a more “vicious” competitor. Dave states that while he lost to Seth Rollins last week, the company may go “bigger” with their feud.

Meltzer hypothesizes that the Rollins/Theory program may spill into a pay-per-view setting. It’ll be interesting to see how things progress in this storyline.

In most cases in the past, when a MITB superstar blows their chance with a cash-in, things go south with their position in the WWE. With that said, maybe the reason Theory lost his opportunity was to shake his character up a bit, to go to greater heights.

With Triple H in charge of creative, anything is possible. Austin Theory seems to have a bright future with the WWE, and possibly a gimmick change is just what he needs to get to the next level.
