Many thought the day would never come, but Vince McMahon has retired from WWE. Also, who will now run the giant promotion?

Vince McMahon Announces Retirement From WWE

The WWE is known for many things and one of them is Vince McMahon. After a lifetime in the business, Vince is stepping away.

McMahon tweeted that he is retiring from WWE. He thanked the WWE fans in a short tweet.

Vince transformed the wrestling business after purchasing it from his father. He either bankrupted other territories or purchased them.

Then, McMahon invested all his money into the first WrestleMania and that event kept him afloat all this years.

He tried other adventures like bodybuilding and the XFL, but found little success. Plus, he even defeated the United States government over claims he purchased steroids for wrestlers.

Lately, the last scandal seemed to have caused too much pressure. Vince was named in several hush money scandals where women accused him of sexual harassment.

It saw Vince step-down as CEO and Stephanie McMahon was made interim. Also, Triple H just became the Vice President of Talent Relations.

Therefore, many changes are to come because people thought Vince would never retire.

The stress with the current investigation might have been too much for the 77 year old former CEO. Truly, it was time to retire.

Without Vince McMahon, we will see what else happens. The next few days will likely see more major shakeups at the top of WWE.

Already, Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan will serve as co-CEOs of WWE following Vince’s retirement.

What a wild ride for Vince McMahon. Love him or hate him, he changed the wrestling business forever.
