He paired them back up, so what are Vince McMahon’s thoughts on the New Day? Plus, it seems at least one pre-recorded SmackDown segment won’t air this Friday.

Vince McMahon On New Day

The group was together and then apart…and now together again…sort of. So what are Vince McMahon’s thoughts on New Day?

Well, it’s a bit of an interesting answer, honestly.

According to Fightful, Vince McMahon missed what the trio we knew as New Day could do on screen.

So much so that he wanted them back together. That is a reversal, as McMahon had previously split the group up.

However, while the group got a bit of a reunion…we aren’t going to see them called New Day anymore.

Per the report, while Vince McMahon missed New Day…he still wants the Superstars to function independently.

That’s why, in spite of fans chanting New Day rocks…we are going to see them announced as the team of Big E and Kofi Kingston.

Of course, that’s easier to do at present, with Xavier Woods off television due to injury.

What might make things interesting is when Woods comes back.

It remains to be seen whether the trio would be kept together on SmackDown, or if Big E would get another crack at RAW as a solo act.

And, if they are kept together on the blue brand…would Vince McMahon stick with announcing them as individual Superstars?

Or would Vince McMahon buckle and bring back New Day?

SmackDown Segment Won’t Air

It doesn’t happen often anymore, but one pre-recorded SmackDown segment won’t make it to air, apparently.

Due to travel and logistical needs, this week’s go-home episode of SmackDown was actually filmed after last week’s show.

As is the case now, because everyone has a camera in their pockets, plenty of spoilers have already been posted.

And, we’ve seen reports of one segment that did not look good live.

Since WWE has the benefit of the episode not being live…it appears that this particular segment won’t air.

The report of the likely edit comes by way of the Wrestling Observer.

Per that discussion, the segment that likely won’t air involved SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey.

The pair were involved in a segment on what will air as the go-home episode of SmackDown. There was an ugly exchange which is not expected to air.

Thanks to fans who posted clips online, you can see the likely doomed segment anyways.

It is safe to say, if we see that segment, one of two things is likely.

One, it was heavily edited so that we will not see that massive botch where Charlotte didn’t really go with the flow.

Or, if WWE feels it works with other camera angles (possible, but that seems unlikely), I may already have my botch of the night for my SmackDown in a Nutshell.

Not sure who is ultimately to blame for this one, but it would be the second major botch in just a few weeks for Charlotte Flair.
