I think most will agree that Hollywood is full of fake people who project being lovely and generous but are just doing it for the clout and the accolades (remember Ellen?). The Matrix star Keanu Reeves is not a typical Hollywood elite. Universally known as one of the kindest people in Hollywood, Reeves shuns the spotlight while being a nice guy with a kind heart.
In fact, his latest act proves once again what an amazing man he is.
Keanu Reeves reportedly gave up 70% of his salary from The Matrix to battle leukemia, a disease that ravaged his sister. But there’s more to it than that.
Via The Daily Mail:
Keanu became Kim’s primary carer during this time and helped with her recovery after she spent a decade fighting the cancer, before going into remission.
According to the report, Reeves sold his home to be closer to his sister and spent $5 million additional dollars on treatments for his sister. That this story is only coming out 20 years after the fact reinforces what an upstanding gentleman Reeves is.
Simple acts of kindness mean so much more than grand public gestures of philanthropy.
He’s a lover and a fighter!
I remember back when Keanu Reeves was on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”, and the alleged “comedian” tried to get The Matrix star to say something stupid to embarrass him. This response is what the late-night host got instead.
The look on Colbert’s face says it all. He realized he screwed up and got an honest, genuine answer.

In a world of Alec Baldwins, we should all strive to be like Keanu Reeves.
Reeves is famous but doesn’t let his fame consume him. He makes movies he wants and has transformed himself into a bonafide star.
There was a time when Reeves was a punch-line with everyone assuming his laid-back Cali voice was evidence of him being “stupid.”
I think we realize not to judge people by how they talk, but instead of how they act. Keanu is a great guy and an excellent action star.
On a related note, I would recommend checking out the new Matrix film. It does a great job of critiquing society, the previous three movies (and peoples’ reaction to it), combining the thoughtful but not bashing you in the head commentary with some stellar action sequences.
Let’s end this with an incredible fight scene from John Wick, probably the best action movie to come out in the last decade.
You can catch Keanu Reeves in The Matrix Resurrections – now in theaters! Check out the trailer below.
