Don Cheadle Honors His “Golden Palace” Costar Betty White

Don Cheadle, who co-starred with White in “The Golden Girls” spinoff “The Golden Palace,”wrote a touching tribute to the late actress.

“Betty was the best of the best,” Cheadle wrote on Twitter. “When we were shooting scenes together it was difficult for the DP to get the lighting right between my chocolate and Betty’s White! She was either a ghost or I was the shadow. I came on set one day and Betty had darkened her make up/hair a bit in an attempt to accommodate for it.”

“Nobody asked her to do it. and that’s just one small example of her overflowing generosity,” he added. “My dogs thank her too. she gave us our veterinarian Reco who we still see to this day. She was the goldenest of them all and will be forever missed.”

Tributes Pour In For Betty White

Tribute have been pouring in for White from many of her other former co-stars as well, including from Sandra Bullock, who starred with her in the 2009 film The Proposal.

‘I don’t drink vodka … but I will tonight, on ice, with a slice of lemon with a hot dog on the other side and just be okay being sad,” Bullock told People Magazine, referring to a favorite food and drink combination of White’s. “I’ll have to buy some rose-colored glasses because Betty was that for all of us.”

White’s longtime agent Jeff Witjas also issued a statement honoring White.

“Even though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever,” he said. “I will miss her terribly and so will the animal world that she loved so much. I don’t think Betty ever feared passing because she always wanted to be with her most beloved husband Allen Ludden. She believed she would be with him again.”

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
