Alex Trebek’s Widow Shares Touching Wedding Picture And Special Message

Alex Trebek’s widow, Jean, shared a message of gratitude for the outpouring of love and support following the “Jeopardy!” host’s death. Jean Trebek also included a touching picture of the couple on their wedding day.

Trebek’s Final “Jeopardy” Episode Will Air Christmas Day

Trebek had been fighting pancreatic cancer which he announced he had in March 2019.

Against all odds, the game show host continued filming new episodes of “Jeopardy” as he sought treatment for the advanced disease. Trebek’s last show was filmed on October 29th, just a few days before his death.

We’ll get a special gift this Christmas as Trebek’s final episode of him hosting Jeopardy! will air on Christmas Day.

“My family and I sincerely thank you all for your compassionate messages and generosity,” Trebek’s widow shares in the Instagram post below. “Your expressions have truly touched our hearts. Thank you so very, very much,” she continued. “Many Blessings to all, Jean Trebek.”

Trebek hosted “Jeopardy!” since 1984.

It’s hard to imagine the timeless show without him. And, there are many questions about who will attempt to fill his footsteps.

Succeeding Trebek will be a difficult task. After all, he was the “Jeopardy!” brand.

Petition For LeVar Burton To Host “Jeopardy”

More than 13,000 people have signed a petition for LeVar Burton to step up to the podium and pick up where Alex left off.

It’s getting a lot of attention since Burton is also a beloved celebrity with a following. He hosted “Reading Rainbow” for 21 years.  In addition, he was on “Star Trek” and on a number of other shows.

“Between hosting 21 seasons of the educational Reading Rainbow, playing the brainiac engineer Geordi La Forge on Star Trek: the Next Generation, and filling the roll of Kunta Kinte in the ever important mini-series Roots, LeVar Burton has inspired and shaped the minds of several generations of trivia-loving nerds,” the petition reads.

“This petition is to show Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. and producer Harry Friedman just how much love the public has for Burton, and how much we’d all love to see him as the next host of Jeopardy!”

Obviously, no one can take the place of Alex Trebek as Jeopardy! host but, the show must go on – Alex would want it that way.
