Chris Pratt voting joke Onward People's Choice Awards

Hollywood star Chris Pratt of Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy fame was backhanded by the “woke” mob this week after he dared to make a joke about voting that they deemed to be “insensitive.”

Chris Pratt Makes Voting Joke About Onward

41-year-old Pratt has wormed his way into the heart of America as a bit of a jokester. The A-list star comes across as a down-to-earth and fun guy despite his blockbuster success and marriage to Katherine Schwarzenegger.

While promoting his new Disney Pixar movie Onward, Pratt poked fun at the laundry list of liberal celebrities who are constantly telling their followers to “vote” in the upcoming presidential election.

His post was encouraging his followers to vote for his movie at this year’s People’s Choice Awards.

While the joke was clearly meant to be nothing more than harmless fun, it was enough to “trigger” many social media users.

“With all that’s going on in the world it is more important than ever that you vote,” wrote Pratt, 41. “Just ask any celebrity. They will tell you. Every day. Several times a day. To vote. But me? I will tell you EXACTLY who to vote for.”

“The heroes before us did not spill their blood only to have their sacrifices wasted by your apathy,” the Guardians of the Galaxy star continued. “The upcoming 2020 People’s Choice Awards is the most consequential vote in the history of mankind times a million infinity.”

“Vote for #Onward for family movie of the year,” Pratt concluded. “Or else. You WILL die. No hyperbole. Click the link in my bio. Let your voice be heard.”

Cue Backlash!

The torrent of backlash was swift and made it clear which side was taking offense. Chris Pratt’s joke timed with a huge push for voting by the left so his attempt at humor went over like a lead balloon.

Especially given the fact his joke played off the leftist narrative that this election is more important than ever. Because it is imperative that Donald Trump be removed from office, of course.

“YIKES. Imagine the amount of privilege one person can have to write this tone-deaf post,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “This is super insensitive. Read the room. Oh wait you did and decided to mock people.”

“I get this is supposed to be a cute little joke but it comes off as really insensitive,” a third user wrote. “The upcoming election is really important and everyone should vote and for you to try and take that and turn it into an ad for your movie is low.”

Others, however, rushed to Pratt’s defense, telling the “offended” mob of triggered commenters to calm down.

“He is just trying to make a light hearted joke because times are tough right now,” someone wrote, with another person adding, “People literally are so sensitive about everything, grow a backbone and take a joke. It’s madness.”

“Geez. Everyone really has lost their sense of humor,” a third user posted. “This is just a lighthearted post and there’s nothing wrong with that. No one’s going to take the election less seriously because Chris Pratt posted about the People’s Choice Awards.”

Chris Pratt Refuses To Submit To Democrats

Though Chris Pratt has not endorsed a candidate in this election, he has previously been one of the few stars not to sell his soul to the Democratic Party.

Back in 2017, he spoke out to say that he does not feel “represented” by either the Democratic or Republican parties.

“I really feel there’s common ground out there that’s missed because we focus on the things that separate us,” Pratt said, according to Fox News. “You’re either the red state or the blue state, the left or the right. Not everything is politics. And maybe that’s something I’d want to help bridge, because I don’t feel represented by either side.”

The A-lister proudly and publicly shares his faith, his patriotism, and his love for farming. Much to the dismay of liberals.

It’s sad we live in a time in which people are so quick to be offended that a simple and silly joke like the voting one Chris Pratt made is grounds for intense backlash from the cancel culture mob.

It’s time to chill out and find get a sense of humor.
