liberal Hollywood Oliver Stone James Woods cancel culture politically correct

Hollywood has gotten so politically correct in recent years, even liberal Oliver Stone says it’s too much. The Academy Award winning director remarked in a recent interview that Tinseltown is “too fragile, too sensitive.” He even compared current cancel culture and its constantly changing rules about what’s offensive to an “‘Alice in Wonderland’ tea party.”

Hollywood’s Cancel Culture

Now instead of entertaining, Hollywood appears to be more concerned with making political statements. Everything demands an agenda and cancel culture rules the day.

Stone won Best Director and Best Picture for “Platoon,” Best Director for “Born on the Fourth of July,” and wrote and directed many more movies in his decades-long career.

Television shows and movies from even a few years ago are now deemed too unacceptable as racially insensitive, racist, or misogynistic.

In this toxic environment, it’s hard to imagine a classic like “Blazing Saddles” or even 1980s Brat Pack movies being made today.

Because of the political correctness that dominates the left coast movie producers, these fun movies would have never even been made.

Now, even humor has to be carefully dissected so as not to offend anyone.

People watch movies to escape their real life. They don’t want to be lectured. They want entertainment.

Oliver Stone is finally recognizing this.

Oliver Stone Dishes On Hollywood’s Sensitivity Counselors

Recently, Stone spoke to the New York Times to discuss his upcoming memoir. That’s when he dropped the bombshell that he believes Hollywood has gone too far with its political agenda.

From the New York Times

“The problem is in Hollywood. It’s just so expensive — the marketing. Everything has become too fragile, too sensitive,” he said. “Hollywood now — you can’t make a film without a Covid adviser. You can’t make a film without a sensitivity counselor. It’s ridiculous.”

Why is that ridiculous?

“The Academy changes its mind every five, 10, two months about what it’s trying to keep up with. It’s politically correct [expletive], and it’s not a world I’m anxious to run out into. I’ve never seen it quite mad like this. It’s like an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ tea party.”

In what respect?

“Oh, David, don’t go there. That’s going to be your headline,” responded Stone. “You know, I just read something about how films are going to be very expensive to make now, because you need to take all these precautions, and a 50-day shoot becomes a 60-day shoot, and social distancing for actors. That’s what I’m talking about.”

To sum up, Hollywood is out of touch with average Americans.

It’s gone so far left that it’s even out of touch with Oliver Stone!

And you know his friend James Woods wholeheartedly agrees!
