Ricky Gervais blasts Hollywood hypocrites during Golden Globes monologue

Comedian Ricky Gervais sent shockwaves through Hollywood while hosting the Golden Globes on Sunday night when he called out liberal celebrities for their hypocrisy. Since then, the British stand-up comedian has been receiving backlash from “triggered” liberals online for blasting their beloved leftist stars on live television. But Gervais wasn’t about to let the criticism go unanswered.

Ricky Gervais Fires Back At His Haters

Now, 58-year-old Gervais is firing back with a defiant message to these liberal snowflakes, making it clear that he is not backing down.

Fox News reports that Gervais took to Twitter to point out how absurd it is that some liberals are slamming his opening monologue as “right wing.”

“How the f–k can teasing huge corporations, and the richest, most privileged people in the world be considered right wing?” Gervais posted on Twitter.

Ricky Gervais Held Nothing Back In Golden Globes Monologue

This came after Gervais held nothing back during the awards show, calling out the liberal celebrities for their relationships to large corporations like Apple, Amazon and Disney.

“You say you’re woke but the companies you work for, I mean, unbelievable – Apple, Amazon, Disney – if ISIS started a streaming service, you’d call your agent,” Gervais said.

He then closed out his opening monologue by telling the stars that they should not talk about politics while accepting their awards because nobody actually cares what they think.

“If you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech,” he said. “You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything… so if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent, and your god, and f*** off.”

Ends With a Spotlight On Weinstein Connections

Not stopping there, Gervais ended the show by taking a dig at Hollywood stars’ connections to Harvey Weinstein. The disgraced producer was a fixture on the awards show circuit just a few years ago. Despite the fact that Weinstein’s many alleged sexual assaults were something of an open secret in the entertainment world.

While introducing actress Sandra Bullock, Weinstein said, “Our next presenter starred in Netflix’s Bird Box, a movie where people survive by acting like they don’t see a thing – sort of like working for Harvey Weinstein.”

As gasps filled the room, Weinstein added, “You did it! I didn’t – you did it!”

Watching Gervais call out Hollywood hypocrites to their faces was incredibly refreshing. So we’re glad to see he is not backing down despite the backlash he is receiving from “triggered” liberal snowflakes.

Hollywood liberals would do well to listen to what he said. And remember that they have no business lecturing the rest of us about politics.
