Antifa protesters in Portland, Oregon set fire to a statue of George Washington erected in 1926 before pulling it down. To make it even more inflammatory, they put an American flag on the statue of our first President and sprawled graffiti before lighting it ablaze. Washington and Jefferson are now being targeted by protesters because the historical figures owned slaves.

Antifa Torches Then Topples George Washington Statue In Portland

Things have hit a new high in the Northwest over the past couple of weeks. The Mayor of Seattle caved to violent extremists allowing them to take control of a part of that city.

Portland has long been a hotbed for Antifa as local politicians have essentially given them free reign.

Now, these brutes have pulled down the nearly 100 year old statue of our most prominent Founding Father. It left a disturbing sight. 

From Daily Wire: 

“Some wrapped the statue’s head in an American flag and lit the flag on fire,” KOIN News reported. “Their numbers grew over the next hour until there were enough people to pull the statue to the ground. They quickly scattered.”

A news crew from the outlet “found the statue face down and covered in graffiti.” Shortly after it was toppled, Portland police arrived on the scene, KOIN reports.

Journalist Andy Ngo tweeted out videos of the destruction of property, writing: “Antifa rioters on Sandy Blvd. in Portland draped a US flag over a George Washington statue [and] set it on fire. They then toppled the statue. ‘Genocidal colonist’ [and] ‘f— cops’ are sprayed on monument. Rioters have began to build another autonomous zone nearby.”

Journalist Andy Ngo is known for tracking Antifa. He sustained brain damage from an attack on Antifa terrorists in Portland last year and he is currently suing the local group.

Mounting Unrest

Desecration of historical monuments is on the rise. Last week, riots beheaded a statue of Christopher Columbus. As the movement escalates, these social justice warriors seem intent on taking their destruction next level.

Confederate statues are under attack by both rioters and politicians. Last night’s events in Portland could be seen as a declaration of war on the Founding Fathers statues as well.

Burning the American flag certainly punctuates their message. These are not people who love this country and want to make it great. These self-serving anarchists want to tear away all of the good and bad that built this great nation. 

They want to erase our history, including how it was founded.

Nothing appears to be off limits to them. And most elected officials are either allowing them to go unchecked or encouraging the behavior.

Next, these SJWs might come after the Constitution. Or your neighborhood.
