Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy

A lot happened in 2019. Some of the top wrestlers in the WWE have tumbled down, while others have made their way up. So, who are the most successful WWE wrestlers of the past year?

10. WWE Newbies Aleister Black And Buddy Murphy

Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy

I have to admit, I really struggled finding these two their individual spots on the list. I did know that they had to be on it because frankly they put on one of the best matches of the year. Both men have star quality, which makes us want to tune in, so where on earth should I put them.

In the end, I decided to give them a shared spot on number 10. If they were on a roster a little longer or won a title on the main roster, I would have put them higher. In fact, my personal preference would be to put them at the top of the list.

2020 will be a great year for Buddy Murphy and Aleister Black. Their feud is still going at the moment, so I cannot wait to see what both men have in store for us in the year to come.

9. The Big Dog Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns has faced many trials and tribulations over the past year, but still makes it to our list of best wrestlers of 2019.

He is currently embroiled in a feud with Baron Corbin. Even though the “eating dog food match”  is a tad out there, it is keeping Roman Reigns on the map.

8. The King of The Ring Baron Corbin

WWE King Corbin

While you may think I’m absolutely bonkers for putting one of the most hated wrestlers on my list, there is logic behind my madness. Can you think of a man who has been more successful as a heel than Baron Corbin? I think not!

As his new moniker indicates, Corbin won the King of the Ring tournament this year and hasn’t let us forget it.

He’s also had it in for Roman Reigns, which certainly added a good feud on the roster.

7. Daniel Bryan Becomes Face Again

WWE Daniel Bryan

I have to admit I thoroughly enjoyed the “fickle” Daniel Bryan this year. I thought he was brilliant as a heel, as his motives were very believable. Contrary to other superstars, his heel motives actually made sense. Still, face Daniel Bryan is just as good.

Once Daniel Bryan stood face-to-face with The Fiend, he had to draw on the support of the WWE Universe. It led to one of my favorite wrestling moments of 2019.

Given the history of Daniel Bryan this year, he very much deserves his spot on our best wrestlers of the year list.

6. Adam Cole Impresses On NXT And The Main Roster

Another wrestler who has impressed on NXT as well as on the main roster is Adam Cole.

He put on a performance of a lifetime against Daniel Bryan during Survivor Series and still reigns supreme on the NXT roster.

2020 should be a great year for Adam Cole Bay Bay.

5. NXT Impresses With Rhea Ripley

Rhea Ripley at WWE Survivor Series

Rhea Ripley has impressed everyone this year. Even though she was originally on NXT UK, she made her way through the ranks of NXT pretty quickly.

In fact, she beat Shayna Baszler for the women’s title.

Ripley did not only impress on the NXT roster though, as she stood out considerably during Survivor Series. We have no doubt that she caught the eye of WWE management and that it led to her victory against Baszler.

We predict a lengthy title reign for the lovely Australian.

4. WWE’s First Draft Pick Becky Lynch

From being picked first in the WWE draft to winning two titles at the same time at WrestleMania, it has been an amazing year for Becky Lynch.

Things have also been great on a personal level, as she got engaged to Seth Rollins. She is also the woman with the highest score on our list of best wrestlers of 2019.

3. Fall From Grace For Seth Rollins

WWE Seth Rollins

A year ago, Seth Rollins would have been on top of our list. While his wrestling skills have remained supreme, his troubles on social media with the WWE Universe have hurt his rating.

While things have gone good for Seth personally in 2019, professionally there have been some problems. Unfortunately, Seth only has himself to blame, as he retaliated against WWE fans calling them “jealous” among other things.

Later, Roman Reigns would come to his friend’s defense and call him “misunderstood.” The company reacted by eventually turning him heel, and this was the right move.

By turning Seth Rollins heel, they have potentially saved his career for the coming year. Hate to say it as well, but nobody is a better heel than Rollins.

2. The Best WWE Comeback Goes To Kevin Owens

WWE Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens did not have the best time over the past couple of years. Despite a successful feud with Chris Jericho, he was denied the main event. In fact, this was one of the reasons why Jericho left the company.

However, things could change for Kevin Owens in the coming year, as Kevin Owens has made a comeback and is stronger than ever.

Once again, the gimmick of KO is the key to his success. Owens has successfully used a Stone Cold Steve Austin gimmick and made it his own. He is one of the better talkers on the microphone and is all about him against the world.

We love it and can’t wait to get more KO in 2020!

And, that brings us to our number 1 wrestler of 2019!

1. The Most Successful Wrestler Of 2019: The Fiend

The Fiend

Even though his first episode of the Firefly Fun House was received with lots of skepticism, The Fiend has made his way to the top this year. After beating the likes of Seth Rollins and Daniel Bryan, The Fiend ruled the world of WWE wrestling in 2019.

One of the reasons why Bray Wyatt has been so successful with The Fiend is undoubtedly the weirdness of the gimmick.

Many fans did not take to it right away, but I’m glad he managed to prove the universe wrong.

Can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2020!
