Backstage News On WWE’s Draft, The Rock Working UFC 244

WWE Being Silent On Draft Plans

There is so much going on with WWE right now as NXT just debuted on the USA Network and they still have their big move to Fox, which will see SmackDown switch channels while several new additions are made on the production end. On top on everything, the WWE Draft is returning on October 11 and 14.

During the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that very few people within WWE know who will end up on which brand. WWE’s advertisement section has started to feature RAW superstars Becky Lynch and Brock Lesnar on promotional material for SmackDown, but anything can still change. If Lesnar does win the WWE Championship in less than two weeks, he will likely be part on the blue brand for the first time in 15 years.

Unlike the Superstar Shake-up and Wild Card option, WWE is looking to enforce the rules for the upcoming draft. Not only will the wrestlers be moving around, but as will the announce teams.

There is always the possibility that backstage interviewers, referees, timekeepers and others will also be calling RAW or SmackDown as their permanent home. Like years before, it seems most talent (outside of the top names like Lesnar and Reigns) will learn their future during the actual draft.

The Rock To Have A Major Role For UFC 244’s Main Event

UFC 244 will come from Madison Square Garden, which is known for holding many wresting events and also recently got into the MMA business; once the sport was legalized a few years ago. The November pay per view will see fan favorites and gangstas Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal battle in the main event.

They will be fighting for the Baddest Motherf—er Championship, which is being made specifically for this bout and is a one time deal. TMZ caught up with UFC President Dana White, who stated that Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock) will play a role. Usually, White puts the belt around the winners waist, but that honor will go to The Rock. As for why, White had a simple answer.

“Listen, if The Rock wants to do it, The Rock gets what The Rock wants,” said White.

The Rock has attended UFC shows before, but he has never stepped inside the Octagon during an event. UFC 244 is November 2 and do not be surprised if WWE tries to snag The Rock for an appearance on SmackDown when it moves to Fox next month.
