Batista Told Undertaker Not To Wrestle Goldberg, The Street Profits Update

The past few weeks have seen The Street Profits appear on RAW as they continue to cut promos. While Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins have been on RAW, they are still part of NXT and even hold the tag team titles.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, they noted how WWE is not having The Street Profits wrestle on TV because the NXT names would have to lose to main roster superstars. This is something that Triple H does want to happen and it has put Ford & Dawkins in a strange place.

Back at Takeover XXV, The Street Profits won the the NXT Tag Team Championships as the War Raiders vacated the belts weeks earlier when they were promoted to the main roster. WWE does want back to back champions vacating their belts due to a main roster move.

There is always a possibly The Street Profits lose the titles at the next Takeover card in August or in the TV tapings leading up to the show. Still, that is over six weeks away a long time for The Street Profits to not perform on WWE TV. With Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff having a larger role in WWE storylines after Extreme Rules, anything could happen.

– Undertaker vs. Goldberg at Super ShowDown was a debacle. It could be due the age of both wrestlers or Goldberg suffering a concussion minutes into the main event.

Batista spoke to GQ and revealed that he told Undertaker not to take the match. Undertaker laughed and Batista knew he could not change “The Deadman’s” mind.

“I only saw highlights which were, you know, low lights,” said Batista. :It was not good. It’s just bad circumstances all the way around. I feel like Taker’s there for the right reasons. I think he’s there because he still loves it. But, I wish that they would utilize him in the right way. I think a novelty match with Goldberg is the wrong way.”

Strong words from the recently retired superstar, who had memorable program with Undertaker and even worked with Goldberg.
