WWE Superstars Not Happy About SSD

– As a whole, Super ShowDown was pretty bad and internally superstars seemed to have a similar reaction. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted how several superstars believed that WWE should not have moved forward with the event from Saudi Arabia.

“Basically, most of the people knew they shouldn’t have gone,” said Meltzer. “Most guys don’t wanna rock the boat. Some guys wanted to go, but I heard most didn’t think they should go. It was an awfully long trip. One person told me that if it were up to him he would never go back again, but it’s not up to him so it doesn’t matter. Others were just like ‘it sucked.’ There were people who very much understood that the booking was horrible throughout so much of the show. For the guys in the battle royal, it was very much going through the motions because the whole thing was just thrown together.”

The long trip and negative reaction will not stop WWE from returning as they have a 10 year deal with Saudi Arabia. Of the few shows produced, most have been met with a negative response from fans with some talent refusing to go. Still, the deal is very lucrative to WWE and they will not be changing their mind. There was plenty of backlash for the previous show, Crown Jewel, but WWE still went forward.

While no return date as been announced, WWE will likely make another visit around November.

– Speaking of Super ShowDown, Goldberg returned to the ring for the first time in over two years as he lost to the Undertaker in the main event. The match ran into trouble early as Goldberg suffered a concussion. From that point forward, the match was full of botches and that included the final sequence.

Goldberg would later take to Twitter to apologize for his performance. Now, video has emerged of Goldberg exiting the ring. As seen below, he we was clearly struggling and had trouble standing; even collapsing at one point.
