Chick-Fil-A Responds to Anger Over Organizations They Donate to in True Christian Form

Over the past few months, there has been a growing amount of anger from the left about Chick-fil-A’s donations to Christian organizations. This has resulted in many boycotts of the restaurant chain and in Chick-fil-A being banned from numerous airports. Now, a top executive with Chick-fil-A has responded to the attacks on the brand’s strong Christian faith.

The Washington Examiner reported that Rodney Bullard, executive director for the Chick-fil-A Foundation, explained that helping the community is far more important to them than any outrage they get for donating to Christian groups that some say are anti-LGBTQ.

“The calling for us is to ensure that we are relevant and impactful in the community, and that we’re helping children and that we’re helping them to be everything that they can be,” Bullard explained. “For us, that’s a much higher calling than any political or cultural war that’s being waged. This is really about an authentic problem that is on the ground, that is present and ever present in the lives of many children who can’t help themselves.”

He went on to defend Chick-fil-A’s donations to Fellowship of Christian Athletes, pointing out that though the organization is against gay marriage, the money that is given to them goes towards a  summer camp that focuses on helping low-income youth. Carrie Kurlander, Chick-fil-A’s vice president of external communications, added that their goal is not about having children live their lives according to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes code.

“The intent is to expose them to all of the gateway to college exposure in sports as role models, all of that,” she said. “So, we actually had a conversation two years ago about this very thing and said, ‘Alright, we’re probably going to get dinged. But the impact is real and authentic.’ And so, there was a judgment call.”

This comes as the leftwing bigotry against Chick-fil-A’s Christian beliefs has gotten incredibly out of hand. We’re glad to see that despite all of the heat they are getting, Chick-fil-A is standing by their Christian faith and refusing to back down. Hopefully, liberals will see this explanation and stop giving the restaurant chain so much trouble for simply being good Christians.

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
