Five NFL Players Who Will ALWAYS Stand For The National Anthem!

The National Anthem protests were started by former San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Although he lost his job and has found himself unemployable in the NFL, the protests he started continue. While some NFL players continue protesting the National Anthem, it’s important to remember there are plenty of players who are doing the right thing and respectfully standing.

Here are five of them:

Jimmy Garropolo – San Francisco 49ers

Garropolo takes his job seriously. Given that he has Kaepernick’s old job as quarterback of the 49ers, it’s very poetic that he is supportive of the National Anthem. Not only is he a better quarterback, Garropolo understands the importance of patriotism and how fortunate we are to be Americans.

“It’s not my idea of doing the right thing. But it’s his [Kaepernick] personal opinion, I guess,” he said in a 2016 interview. “You’ve just got to let him stand by that. I think we have a great thing going on in this country. Everything about America — it’s a great thing. We’re all very blessed to be here. And it’s good to realize that.”

Tyler Eifert – Cincinnati Bengals

The tight end made it abundantly clear in an essay that he will never take a knee during the National Anthem. Tyler Eifert published “Why I Stand” and was applauded for his patriotism by fans across the country.

“I stand because I love my country.” Eifert wrote. “I stand because I want to honor the people putting their lives on the line for me on a daily basis in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard. I stand because my cousin is a pilot in the United States Air Force, risking his life flying F-15s in active war zones. He takes pride in his job protecting Americans, a sacrifice that all members of every branch of the United States military willfully take.”

Eifert also has a game day tradition of writing the name of a member of the United States military on his cleats. He feels this is another way to honor those who make sacrifices for our freedom.

Alejandro Villanueva – Pittsburgh Steelers

This offensive lineman is a former Army Ranger who has earned a Bronze Star serving our country in Afghanistan. In September 2017, when the Pittsburgh Steelers planned to wait in the tunnel during the National Anthem, Villanueva stepped out of the shadows and into the hearts of patriotic Americans. He came out of the tunnel and showed his love for our country.

This veteran was quickly rewarded when Americans across the country bought his jersey as a show of support, proving that patriotism wins.

Joe Cardona – New England Patriots

While playing in the NFL, this long snapper is also playing an important role in the Naval Reserves. As a graduate of the Naval Academy, Joe Cardona realizes the sacrifices our veterans have made and what the National Anthem means to them. There is no way this proud American is taking a knee during the National Anthem. He will always stand tall and proud of being an Americanfor this country.

“Obviously, I don’t agree with the method just because I know what it means for so many people,” Cardona said in 2016 interview about Kaepernick’s protests. “The national anthem, watching the flag [being raised] — it means a lot to a lot of people, especially those serving overseas, those that have served, those that have fought for the freedoms that we have.”

Ezekiel Elliott – Dallas Cowboys

Running back Ezekiel Elliott made it quite clear that he supports owner Jerry Jones’ announcement that the entire Cowboys team will be respectfully standing during the National Anthem. The running back and Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott announced they were both in support of this decision. This put them in the crosshairs of liberal activist hatred, but they didn’t care. They are on America’s Team.

“Us as a team, we chose to stand together for the national anthem,” Elliott told the Dallas Morning News. “That’s not knocking anyone else who may choose to kneel during the national anthem. But we’re the Dallas Football Cowboys, America’s Team. We stand for the National Anthem.”
