There were plenty of rumors as to why they hadn’t been on the popular series recently, but Captain Josh Harris squashed all of that in a recent interview. “I had a lot of family issues going on. I had [multiple] people in ICU at the same time, and that put a kibosh on things — I had to be home,” he said, “Going to visit everybody in ICU isn’t exactly a fun time or stuff that necessarily needs to be filmed.”

The Harris family has a long history in crabbing industry. This season, Josh is going to be honoring his grandfather, Captain Grant Harris who died a year ago, by spreading his ashes into the Bering Sea. This will be done in the same spot where Josh’s father, Captain Phil Harris’ ashes were spread seven years ago. “He wanted to be buried with my dad [Capt. Phil Harris], who’s buried out here,” Josh said. This emotional part of the journey is likely to be on the upcoming season of Deadliest Catch.

The announcement of the return of the Cornelius Marie has been met with cheers by Deadliest Catch viewers. This crew was a favorite of fans of the show and now they are returning!

A longer video announcement about the crew’s return can be seen in the video below.
