On SmackDown, Chelsea Green made her official in-ring debut on the main roster, but was injured and needs surgery. Also, Aleister Black apparently is not happy on the main roster and is looking to sent back to NXT.
Chelsea Green Injured In Main Roster Debut
Chelsea Green’s run in WWE has been anything but smooth. Her bad luck continued on Friday’s SmackDown.
In her official debut on the main roster, she was added to a match where the winner joined Team SmackDown. Early into the contest, Liv Morgan sent Green to outside and she broke her wrist.
After a commercial break, Green was notably absent and the announcers did not make any comments. Now, Green is headed for surgery and will be out for about three months.

Just like the rest of my career, I couldn’t have an easy debut! LOL, that just wouldn’t be fit for my wild journey.
I’m headed into surgery now. I am beyond devastated but so excited to be a part of @WWE team SmackDown, when I get back! ?— CHELSEA GREEN (@ImChelseaGreen) November 14, 2020
For Green, the injury is déjà vu as the same thing happened in her TV debut for NXT. In March of last year, Green also broke her wrist and missed a few months of action.
After recovering and another handful of months in NXT, Green was supposed to join the RAW brand. It was Paul Heyman’s idea, which was scrapped when his Executive Director of RAW title was taken away.
After the injury, wrestlers from several companies sent their best wishes. That included Green’s fiancé, Matt Cardona (formerly known as Zack Ryder).

Green should be back before WrestleMania 37, but WWE may not have time to book her in a match.
Aleister Black’s Future
Shortly before SmackDown was getting to ready to air, WWE confirmed the release of Zelina Vega. Right now, we are still waiting on the official reason.
Yet, many believe her release involves two issues with WWE. Mainly, she did want to lose her third party platforms, despite WWE making talent do so.
Also, there is speculation about her talking about unionizing. That theory was created after she tweeted about unionizing right around the time her departure was made public.
Many people were shocked by the decision and feel she will land with another top wrestling company. Currently, AEW and Impact Wrestling have been mentioned.
Vega will be back on Twitch shortly, where she will likely go into details about what happened. As for her husband, SmackDown’s Aleister Black, there has also been discussion that he may leave.
For now that is strictly a rumor. But, it seems Black is not happy with is position on the main roster.
According to WrestleVotes, Black has requested he be sent back to NXT.
There’s a bit more behind the scenes to the Zelina Vega release. Frustration from both sides is an understatement. While it can’t be directly tied to today’s news, Aleister Black recently requested to move back to NXT and was denied. Dissension amongst the parties involved.

There is no word if WWE will bring Black back to NXT. While on the yellow and black brand, Black went mostly undefeated as he captured the NXT Championship.
He seemed destined for big things on the main roster, with talk of him winning the 2020 Royal Rumble as Paul Heyman was a major fan. But, the push seemed to end when Heyman lost creative control.
