Morgan Wallen Arrested – Hit With Multiple Felony Charges

The country music star Morgan Wallen was arrested in Nashville, Tennessee on Sunday night and charged with three felonies after allegedly launching a chair from the sixth floor of a rooftop bar.

Wallen Arrested

Daily Mail reported that Wallen, 30, was charged with three counts of felony reckless endangerment and one count of misdemeanor after he reportedly threw the chair from the Chiefs Bar just after 10:45pm on Sunday.

Officers with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department are alleging that the chair landed just three feet away from where they were standing. Witnesses claim that Wallen started laughing immediately after he threw the chair.

Wallen was booked into the Davidson County jail just after 12:30am, and his bond was set at $15,250. He was seen being shielded by umbrellas when he was released around 3:30am.

“At 10:53 pm Sunday evening Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct,” Wallen’s lawyer Worrick Robinson said in a statement. “He is cooperating fully with authorities.”

Wallen is scheduled to appear in court again on May 3. He is also set to perform at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville from May 2 to May 4 as part of his “One Night at a Time” Tour.

John Rich Voices Support For Wallen

The country music star John Rich took to social media on Monday morning to voice his support for Wallen.

“Reading about Morgan Wallen this morning, and I can’t help but recall all the destructive, crazy things I did early on in my career,” he wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

“The combo of intense pressure, expectations and over the top success is a dangerous cocktail,” Rich continued. “Thank God I had great mentors who helped guide me out of that mindset, and I hope Morgan has some people around him who care about him enough to help him find a new approach to life.”

This isn’t the first time that Wallen has been in trouble with the law. Back in 2020, he was detained over disorderly conduct at his fellow country music star Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk bar in downtown Nashville, and he was subsequently arrested for public intoxication.

Wallen was also previously charged with DUI in 2016, but the case was ultimately dismissed.

Wallen’s N-Word Scandal

Wallen has additionally found himself being targeted by cancel culture after he was caught on camera dropping the n-word in 2020 as he returned home from a drunken night out with friends. Wallen apologized afterwards, saying that he was on “hour 72 of a 72 hour bender” when this occurred.

“Obviously, the natural thing to do is to apologize further and just continue to apologize but because you got caught and that’s not what I wanted to do,” he said at the time, according to USA Today. “I let so many people down. And [people] who mean a lot to me and give so much to me. And that’s just not fair.”

“I was wrong. It’s on me,” he continued. “I take ownership for this, and I fully accept any penalties I am facing.”

At the time of this writing, Wallen has yet to speak out about his latest arrest. Only time will tell what impact this will have on his career.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
