Tom Brady Snubs Ex-Wife Gisele Bündchen In Christmas Shoutout As He Celebrates Team’s Win

The world was shocked back in October when the NFL star Tom Brady and the supermodel Gisele Bündchen announced that they had divorced after thirteen years of marriage and two children together.

As he celebrated his team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Brady made a point of leaving Bündchen out of his Christmas shoutout as she spent the holiday with their kids.

Brady’s Christmas Shoutout

While speaking briefly to Melissa Stark after the Christmas Day game, Brady gave a shoutout to his loved ones.

“I want to say hi to my parents, my sisters, my kids, love you all, hope you had a good time,” Brady said, according to Daily Mail.

“Hope you had a good time, Merry Christmas to everyone, see you soon,” he added.

Fans were quick to notice that Brady left out Bündchen, who he had been married to since 2009 before their divorce was finalized. Check out his full comments in the video below.

Bündchen’s Christmas With The Kids

While Brady was stateside playing football, Bündchen celebrated Christmas with their two children in Rio Grande do Sul.

The 42 year-old supermodel took to Instagram to post a series of photos that included her and Brady’s children Benjamin, 13, and Vivian, 10, doing various activities like horseback riding, singing karaoke, and enjoying a picnic with her family.

“Always so good to be back home,” Bündchen wrote in the caption.

Brady Discusses Spending Christmas Alone

Brady had previously opened up about how difficult it would be to spend Christmas away from his children for the first time. He spent the holiday in a hotel room in Phoenix, as he had to play professional football on Christmas Day for the first time in his career.

“It’ll be a new experience that I’ve never had before that I’m going to have to learn how to deal with,” Brady said on his “Let’s Go!” podcast. “So you just asked a question about, ‘What have you learned from this football season?’ I’m going to learn how to deal with Christmas. Even in a hotel. I’m going to have to learn how to deal with Christmas and Christmas night and still go out there and be a professional and then look forward to celebrating Christmas with my kids the day after.”

“There’s physical, mental, emotional,” he added of his NFL obligations. “Those are the different challenges that we face in our lives and in all of us.”

Brady’s Businessman Comparison

Brady went on to compare his NFL career to being a businessman.

“I talked to a businessman,” Brady said. “He was like, ‘God, all your injuries over the years.’ I said, ‘Yeah, football’s a tough sport. There’s a lot of injuries to deal with.’ And he goes, ‘Look, I’ve been a businessman all these years so there’s a lot of s–t I deal with too. I deal with anxiety. I deal with stress. I deal with all that. I deal with high blood pressure.’ And I said, ‘You’re right. I may deal with broken fingers and broken ribs and torn ligaments, but, you know, other people are dealing with s–t too.’ And that’s good perspective to have.”

Divorce is never easy, particularly when there are children involved. We can only hope that for the sake of their children, Brady and Bündchen are able to put their differences aside so that they can co-parent effectively moving forward.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
