Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Invited To Stand With Queen On Balcony At Buckingham Palace For Her Platinum Jubilee

After over a year of bashing the royal family every chance they could get, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been invited to stand with Queen Elizabeth on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during the 95-year-old monarch’s Platinum Jubilee in June. The invitation was in doubt, but so far, the offer stands.

Meghan And Harry Invited To Platinum Jubilee Events

Daily Mail reported that if Meghan and Harry make the trip to London for the event, which is meant to celebrate the Queen’s record-breaking 70 years on the British throne, they will be allowed to attend family events, including the service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral and the traditional appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Since Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior royals back in 2020, however, they will not be allowed to take part in Trooping the Colour or play major roles in events scheduled to occur over the four-day Bank Holiday weekend.

Meghan And Harry’s Meeting With The Queen

This comes after it was revealed that Harry and Meghan had a quick meeting with the Queen at Windsor Castle before traveling to The Netherlands for the Invictus Games over the weekend. Unsurprisingly, Harry wasted no time in going public with how his private conversation with his grandmother went.

“She had plenty of messages for Team UK, which I have already passed on to most of them,” Harry told the BBC yesterday. “So, it was great to see her. I’m sure she would love to be here if she could.”

While it is not known at this time whether or not Harry and Meghan plan to take up the Queen’s invitation to her Platinum Jubilee, a high place royal source said last week that they are likely desperate to win back the favor of the people of the United Kingdom, who have largely turned on them over the past few years.

“They need a win. They are never going to get a win with some people in England, probably the majority,” this source told Page Six. “But their appearance at the Invictus Games may reignite the pocket of support they have among a certain young demographic in the UK.”

Can Meghan And Harry Be Trusted? 

Since leaving the royal family two years ago, Harry and Meghan have been anything but loyal to the crown, as they have publicly accused the royals of bullying and racism, among other things.

While it’s understandable that the Queen would still want her grandson and his family to be part of her big day, she might want to think twice before she puts her trust in Harry and Meghan behaving themselves at this event. It would be truly sad if Harry and Meghan betray her again by ruining her Platinum Jubilee.

Here’s hoping they don’t try to make the entire event all about themselves, as they do with most things they partake in.
