Earlier this week, Prince Harry shocked the world when he announced that he would be writing a tell-all memoir about his life that is due out in 2022, which is the same year his grandmother Queen Elizabeth is celebrating the 70th anniversary of her taking the throne.

Harry’s Memoir To Come Out Same Year As Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

While Harry is still scheduled to attend the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration with his wife Meghan Markle and their two young children, royal sources are now saying that the 95-year-old monarch may rescind the invitation due to the “deeply disrespectful” timing of the release of her grandson’s memoir.

Royal sources told Daily Mail that there is an increasing level of anger amongst those in Buckingham Palace not just because Harry is writing a book, but also because of the “clearly deliberate” timing of it’s publication in regards to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The entire situation is reportedly taking a toll on the Queen, as she knew relations between Harry and the rest of the royal family were already at a breaking point.

The Queen Is In A Difficult Position

“Her Majesty has been at great pains to try to keep her relationship with her grandson and his family separate from the decisions she needs to make professionally, so to speak,” this source said. “And the invitation for them to join her next year was a genuine one.”

“Although things have been very difficult, there was a small, but enduring hope that enough time would have elapsed for things to heal. But the feeling internally [now] is that this book will be the last straw,” the insider added.

The source went on to say that it’s been made clear that Harry will not be holding anything back in this memoir.

“It’s emerged that Harry has been secretly working on it for some time and he has made clear that he and his ghostwriter (journalist and novelist J R Moehringer) will leave no stone unturned,” the source said. “The suggestion he could even be seen with his family again in the future is looking increasingly implausible. A lot of people suspect this is the end of the road.”

Timing Of The Memoir Is ‘Deeply Disrespectful’ To The Queen

Another source said that the timing of the memoir coming out is a clear dig at the Royal Family. The Sussexes are dominating headlines when the focus should be on the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

“To bring out the book in the year of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is being seen as deeply disrespectful,” this source said. “There will be a whole year of celebrations… yet it will now be characterized by a drip-feed of revelations, serializations and, eventually, publication.”

“It doesn’t matter what reassurances he tries to give his family about what will be in it,” the insider continued. “The Oprah interview proved how hollow those words can be.”

The Royal Family has reason to be worried given how much Harry has bashed them in interviews with the likes of Oprah Winfrey and others over the past few months.

While it will likely be painful for her to do it, the Queen may be left with no choice but to rescind Harry’s invitation to her Platinum Jubilee celebration.
