Steve Austin may not wrestle at WrestleMania 38 as originally thought. Also, Jeff Hardy should be in AEW within a matter of weeks.

Steve Austin Might No Compete At WrestleMania 38

When WWE announced they were heading to Texas, fans started to put together some dream moments. Two of those moments would be Undertaker inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and Steve Austin wrestling as well.

At the moment, WWE has confirmed Undertaker will be inducted by Vince McMahon. Meanwhile, no other names have been confirmed for 2022 class.

So, that brings us to Austin. In a real shocker, news starting to leak that Austin was preparing to wrestle.

Just hearing that left fans confused. Perhaps, not in such shock when they learned Vince McMahon might also compete.

If WWE does have Austin wrestle, it wouold be against Kevin Owens. They have the same finisher and Owens just randomly started bashing Texas in recent weeks.

Suddenly, plans might have changed. On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted how Austin might not wrestle.

Instead, he would drop Owens with a stunner and likely celebrate with a beer bash.

“The big thing was they wanted Vince and they wanted Austin because they’ve got a lot of tickets to sell,” said Meltzer. “And Pat McAfee vs Austin Theory is not going to be selling a lot of tickets.”

“Steve Austin and Kevin Owens is, you know, they will have a confrontation, but it is not clear if that will be a match or not anymore. It’s essentially up to Austin at this point.”

In the past, Austin has been open that he is done wrestling. A broken neck from over 20 years ago put him on borrowed time inside the ring.

Austin’s last match was a loss to The Rock at WrestleMania 19. At the time, few knew it would be the end as the match was not promoted as a farewell.

Jeff Hardy – AEW

It should come as no surprise that Jeff Hardy is headed to AEW. He would have been there already if it was not for his contract with WWE.

As reminder, a few months back, Hardy was in the main event of a six person tag team match. He left the live event match midway through exiting through the crowd.

WWE wanted Hardy to attend rehab, but declined because he felt fine. His brother, Matt Hardy, agreed.

Now, Jeff will be landing in AEW this month. His WWE contract is up March 9, which is a Wednesday.

Therefore, AEW will likely hold the debut off until late March to avoid any legal matters with WWE. The Hardy Boyz reuniting will help an already stacked tag team division grow even more.

Also, Jeff probably wants to get in there with Brody King, Malakai Black, Darby Allin and Sting. Of course, Jeff and Sting have infamous history from Impact Wrestling that needs to rectified.
