D-Von Dudley Told To Never Wrestle Again, Tony Khan Teases Surprise

According to doctors, D-Von Dudley will never be able to wrestle again. Also, Tony Khan says he has a massive surprise that could happen as soon as this week.

D-Von Dudley Told To Never Wrestle Again

In pro wrestling, retirement rarely last forever. Many return well past their prime to soak up the feeling and maybe for the cash.

D-Von Dudley officially retired in May 2020, but he had not wrestled in sometime. For D-Von, he will never get the chance to compete again because of back surgery.

The damage was worse than the doctors thought before the operation began. He was told his days wrestling are over and D-Von already accepted that before going under the knife.

“They had to fuse L4, L5 and L6,” D-Von noted. “The damage was a lot worse than they thought.”

“The surgery took longer than they anticipated. But God is good and he the DOCTER said I am a new man.”

“I can run, I can jump, I can beat my son Preston in basketball on the basketball court. LOL and racing him down the street lol, he thinks he can beat the old man.”

“They also had to shift my spine a little bit with a curve. Because it was a straight line. That was because of all the wrestling. Then again, all of it was because of wrestling.”

The WWE Hall of Famer noted how he will be in the hospital for at least a few more days. He thanked everyone and plans to return to his backstage duties for WWE when the time is right.

“They put the bolts screws and a plates in my back. They had to go up higher in my back they told me.”

“I was told I could not wrestle anymore because if I do I could do more damage to my back I would have to have surgery again on the upper part. That’s OK I didn’t have plans On going back in there anyway.”

“Again, thank you for all the well wishes and love. God is a great all the time. Amen and testify.”

D-Von will always be associated as part of The Dudley Boyz. Basically, they held tag team gold anywhere they went.

Now, D-Von gets to sit back and help the current superstars became stars.

AEW President Tony Khan likes to make announcements. And for the most part, he delivers.

So, he got fans buzzing the last few days. While on Busted Open Radio, Khan noted how he is working on something massive.

“I am working on something pretty big,” said Khan. “It would be massive.”

“I don’t know if it’s what anybody would expect it is, or think it is, but it would be a big deal in pro wrestling. I am looking forward to hopefully making it happen.”

“Stay tuned. Hopefully, I will get it done and have more to announce soon.”

Khan has brought in big names like Bryan Danielson, CM Punk and Sting. He also has a working relationship with other promotions.

There is really not telling what Khan is trying to produce. Many do not think it is about a new signee.

Maybe, AEW will start touring overseas or bring in a new gimmick match. Whatever the surprise is, Khan seems highly invested.
