AEW has decided to re-sign a bunch of their wrestlers to new deals. Also, it seems like an injury will cause the WrestleMania 38 card to be altered.

AEW Re-Sign Many Wrestlers

Later this summer, AEW will celebrate three years together. Overall, the upstart company has been impressive.

With year three coming up, many contracts will be up. When the promotion was preparing to debut, they had almost everyone sign a three year deal.

Before any deals expire, AEW is making ground. They have already re-signed a bunch of a names.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, they went over who is sticking around.

“AEW didn’t make any announcement of this but the original three-year deals of all the people who were there at the start, which would be Young Bucks, Cody & Brandi Rhodes, Adam Page, Chris Jericho and some others would have expired by now,” the report stated. “Some of the others like Nyla Rose, Britt Baker, Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky would have expired in a few weeks.”

“The Young Bucks publicly noted that their option years were picked and per the original deal got a raise for two more years. Some of them already signed new deals, notably Scorpio Sky who last year signed a five-year new deal.”

“But obviously [Adam] Page, Cody [Rhodes] & Brandi [Rhodes] and [Chris] Jericho were renewed since they were either on TV this week or confirmed as staying.”

Clearly, AEW made sure to re-sign wrestlers who also have a backstage role. Still, they have plenty of others that need new contracts.

As noted, Kenny Omega re-signed for another four years in 2019. So, AEW has done a good job of keeping WWE away from their talent.

WrestleMania 38 is not that far away. Although, WWE still looks to be budding the card.

Apparently, WWE had big plans for Sasha Banks. She was set to face Charlotte Flair for the Women’s Championship.

During a live event, Banks injured her foot and will be out of action for six to eight weeks. Therefore, booking her for WrestleMania would be cutting it very close.

Basically, it would comedown to a matter of about two weeks.

They could be booked for the match, but the problem is possible issues with foot. If it does not heal correctly or in time, WWE would be in a bad spot.

The Royal Rumble was a spot many thought Banks would take this year. In the past, she has done very well in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match.

There is no way Banks will be cleared before the Royal Rumble pay per view at the end of the month. But, WWE might be able to use Bayley to replace Banks if she can get cleared from surgery.
