The theme for this week’s SmackDown In A Nutshell is pretty simple. It’s time for Brock Friday!

Yes, I told you it was really simple. No, I was not kidding.

As was announced at the very tail end of last week’s blue brand Friday fun, Brock Lesnar’s storyline suspension was lifted.

WWE wastes few good opportunities (only good talent). With The Beast returning on SmackDown, they dubbed this time around Brock Friday, at least relative to the shopping side of the house.

It’s a clear reference to the recently passed shopping insanity that happens on Black Friday, if you somehow didn’t know.

But enough about that. It’s the first SmackDown In A Nutshell of December, and my last at my current age.

So, the big item is, of course, Brock Friday.

Beyond that? It’s all heading toward Day One, with matches surely being set up this week.

All that, and we still have to find out about Sami Zayn’s title match!

So, without any more delays…it is time for…

SmackDown In A Nutshell: Time For Brock Friday!

Let’s crack open this Nutshell and enjoy!

Best Match of the night:

For me, I’d go with Sasha and Shayna, or else Xavier versus Jey Uso.

I felt both matches were really good.

Worst match of the night:

Roman versus Sami, but it was basically a squash.

Honeslty, knowing Zayn’s contract is expiring…I can’t help but wonder if that was WWE writing him off.

Star of the Night

Tough one, but I did enjoy seeing Brock back. I honestly felt he got to do more, just from interacting with Sami.

Which means Mr. Zayn is owed at least some credit here too.

Spot of the Night:

German after German…such is life in Suplex City…

Jobber of the Night:

Sami Zayn deserves to win something tonight.

This is not what he wants…but he gets it.

Poor guy spends his whole WWE career waiting for a major title shot…and gets it finally.

Only to be destroyed by the returning Brock Lesnar, on Brock Friday.

Have those conspiracy theories ready!

Upset of the Night:

Sami over Roman…

Just kidding, that didn’t happen LOL.

Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:

Brock really wants to make sure he gets Roman at Day One.

Why else would he destroy Sami and give Reigns a cake walk of a match?

Botch of the night:

Nothing I noticed.

LOL Moment of the night:

Zayn was funny talking with and too Brock, no denying that.

I also enjoyed Boogs soothing the annoyed Viking Raiders by playing a live rendition of their entrance.

Noteworthy Moment:

Brock Friday was fun, as the Beast is back. He gets his shot at Roman at Day One, meaning that show is getting loaded.

Kofi Kingston is back, coming back from his “injury” (he and his wife just welcomed a new baby to the family).

We finally seem to be getting Naomi versus Sonya Deville. I figure this will eventually lead to a PPV match or two as well…but it seems things are finally moving forward.

I could get used to McIntyre and Hardy working together…

Toni Storm got a measure of revenge, giving Charlotte some whipped cream and what not.

And it looks like we will see New Day/Usos…which, while it’s been done a lot, still remains an exciting match.

Overall lowlights:

Honestly I found very little to complain about.

Overall highlights:

Brock is as good as you’d expect. Roman and family were too.

Things are moving nicely for Storm-Flair as well.

Even Naomi is finally apparently getting her hands on Sonya Deville.

Sami gets lost in the shuffle but he did good too.

After the final bell:

All in all, I have to say it was a really satisfying SmackDown.

We can expect more Brock next week, with SmackDown live from Los Angeles.
