Charlotte Flair & Andrade El Idolo Still Together?, Big Day 1 PPV Plans

There’s been a buzz around the wrestling world that power couple WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and AEW talent Andrade El Idolo broke up. It seems like those reports are false, after all.

Charlotte Flair & Andrade El Idolo Still Together?

Bodyslam recently reported that Flair and Andrade parted ways. It was implied that Charlotte decided on this.

The report was released shortly after El Idolo removed Flair on social media and took down some of the couple’s recent pictures. Bodyslam’s report indicated that the two broke up weeks ago.

However, a new report from WrestlingInc’s Raj Giri notes that as of this past weekend The Queen and Andrade were still together.

In fact, Andrade hopped on Twitter this week, seemingly tweeting Charlotte. While he did not tag her, in the post he used #Mami, which he uses when he tweets Flair.

Andrade El Idolo Still Not Following Charlotte Flair

The Twitter post is above, which also appears on Andrade’s IG account. With that said, he’s still not following Flair on Insta or Twitter.

However, The Queen still follows him on these social media platforms. Who knows the real reasoning behind this.

Andrade popped the marriage question to Flair on New Year’s Eve 2019. The two met while working at the WWE together in early 2019.

Speaking of the WWE, the company ditched their December pay-per-view (PPV) for 2021. Rather, an event is scheduled for January 1, 2022.

As most know by now, Day 1 is happening on New Year’s Day. But what are the long-term plans for this PPV?

The hope for this event is that it becomes a new holiday tradition for the WWE Universe. It won’t be a one-year thing, rather, ongoing for the long-term.

The card for this year’s event is stacked. There are three major championship matches as it stands.

This includes the USOs taking on the New Day for the SmackDown tag titles, plus Big E. defending his gold against Seth Rollins and Kevin Owen. Not to mention Brock Lesnar versus Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.

Something To Look Forward To, Annually

Like the WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series, WWE is hoping Day 1 will be something fans look forward to. Much like those events, the date may change when January 1st doesn’t fall on a weekend.

The event takes place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Day 1 has “replaced” December’s Tables, Ladders, and Chairs (TLC).

It also happens to be the first “New Year’s” themed event since New Year’s Revolution that took place in 2007. In addition to the title matches listed above, Edge versus Miz is also the card.

WWE is creating a massive event in the Day 1 PPV. Will it become a hit or miss when all is said and done?

It’s hard to say at this point. The card is certainly stacked, but will the company and talent deliver an entertaining show?

Fans will have to tune in to find out. Then, judge for themselves.
