If a few matches go a certain way, Roman Reigns could be defending the WWE Universal Championship against Seth Rollins. Also, Eddie Kingston delivered another great promo towards a familiar company.

Roman Reigns Vs. Seth Rollins?

Roman Reigns has now been Universal Champion for over 300 days. And, there are no signs of him slowing down.

After Edge returned on SmackDown, we learned those two will do battle at Money In The Bank (MITB). Then, the belief is John Cena will return to challenge Reigns for the gold at SummerSlam.

Also, at SummerSlam, Edge vs. Rollins has been discussed. By the end of August, if Reigns and Rollins do not lose at any pay per views, another big match could be happening.

During the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer gave a timeline of September for Reigns vs. Rollins.

“If they even get to it by September because the last I heard for SummerSlam was Edge vs Seth Rollins,” said Meltzer. So, you know, if Seth Rollins were to beat Edge then it makes all the sense in the world to go with Seth vs Roman Reigns at that point.”

A lot can happen within the next two to three months. Also, a big hurdle would be how to book the match.

Currently, both former Shield members are heels. Rollins could be set for a face run as heel Reigns has been unstoppable for the last nine months.

They have met at least once before, with Rollins pinning Reigns clean to win the title. Moments later, Dean Ambrose (now Jon Moxley) successfully cashed-in his recently won MITB contract.

Eddie Kingston Rips Into WWE

For the past month, sports have caused AEW to air on either Fridays or Saturdays. That changes his week, as they are back on Wednesday nights.

On their latest show, Kenny Omega retained the AEW World Championship against Jungle Boy. Nobody thought Omega would lose, but fans were pleased with Jungle Boy’s effort as he is a future champion.

After the match, several wrestlers hit the ring and a melee rung out. As Dynamite went off the air, Omega and his crew were left standing.

Well, that was until Eddie Kingston and Penta El Zero Miedo headed out to the ring. Then, Kingston got on the mic and cut another passionate promo, this time taking a jab at WWE as the crowd cheered.

Eddie Kingston’s Shot At WWE

“Because the competition sometimes doesn’t want to hear their fans,” said Kingston. “Oh, I guess I’m burning another bridge — surprise.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, AEW cares about their fans. Because we are not here just to get ourselves a paycheck.”

“We’re here every week  — with you people, without you people — and we come out here and we bust our a—es. We love professional wrestling!”

“You saw a match between Kenny Omega and my dude, Jungle Boy, that you will not see on the other channel. You’ll not see legends who are respected on the other channel.”

“You will not see people like me and my best friend [Penta] on the other channel. And you will not see the heart that everybody in that locker room has on the other channel.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, I’m was supposed to send you home happy, but I’m speaking from my heart. The bottom line is this: We are AEW. We will see you Wednesday, and we want to hear you!”

You have to admit, Kingston has a way with words. And, ever since joining AEW, he has been able to showcase his decades of talent more than ever.
