We start off yet another week with the usual RAW In A Nutshell, and this week, will Lilly get her revenge?
Yes, seriously, that is the major question of the week.
And WWE wonders why ratings are flagging? More on that later, I assure you.
But, after last week’s interaction with Shayna Baszler, we can expect the Queen of Spades showing up for a new episode of Alexa’s Playground.
Beyond all that, this week will once again be focused on Hell In A Cell hype. Or, at least, it should be focused on that.
I mean, if it’s not…then that would be another failing to discuss, no?
But yes, this week, we do wonder will Lilly get her revenge. And, if it will actually be worthwhile (probably not, but we can hope).
So, without any more delay, it is time for…
Let’s crack this Nutshell open and find out!
This is kind of tough. I’d say we have a few good ones…but I don’t know that one claimed top spot.
The tag battle at the start was better than you’d expect, especially for what it was.
I liked Kofi and Riddle too.
And honestly, while the tag match between Charlotte/Rhea Rhipley and Nikki Cross/Asuka? It was a train wreck by design at times, but it wasn’t as bad as I figured.
Did not like the champ taking the L, but obviously it was not a clean pin, and that furthers the RAW Women’s Championship feud. So it works.
Elias and Jaxson Ryker was pretty terrible. Though, it was at least brief…
I wasn’t really into Mansoor and Gulak either…it was late in the show and was filler, so random. Clearly WWE wants to get Mansoor over.
Do I go with the Raiders? I mean, I have a feeling WWE does not put the belts on them, but it feels like not that long ago that there was a thought they’d be released.
Like, one suffers a devastating injury, and it really didn’t look good. Now, they are back as the top contenders for the titles.
Nothing.
The opening tag battle royale did seem a bit like a spot-fest, but nothing jumped out at me.
I feel like Jaxson Ryker or Drew Gulak would fit here…but it is not a hill I’d die on.
Well, Drew finally used that sword.
No, not on a Superstar…that would certainly qualify though.
I don’t know if it was really a botch…but angry Kofi seemed to show up a tad late during that backstage segment between he and MVP.
Maybe it was just me, but it just felt like it should have been a bit more snappy.
If you were actually waiting for Eva Marie’s live, in person return to WWE television…wait no more.
That happens next week, as the graphic at the end of this week’s vignette told us.
I am sure that some out there will consider the closing segment great.
Not me, however. I am not alone…
Will Lilly get her revenge? Did she?
Did anyone really care?
In my opinion, that was a massive letdown. Perhaps one of the worst closing segments in recent memory?
You finally give us Alexa Bliss in the ring, facing off with Shayna Baszler…and there’s very little to be excited about.
Blinking lights, coupled with a probably recorded backstage segment that was a waste of time?
Unless I am missing something? Like I figured there would be a return of demonic, no-selling Alexa Bliss, destroying Shayna.
Or maybe some unexpected new debut, or even a possessed Nia Jax or something.
Nope. Nothing.
And what we did get? Zero reason for THAT to be what closes the show.
The tag teams getting some love, even if it was in the opening match.
Drew McIntyre and Lashley are heating things up heading to Hell In A Cell.
Angry Kofi and Riddle had a nice match.
There was plenty to like about RAW…if you ignore my lowlight, it wasn’t a bad show.
Man, RAW in a Nutshell…and WWE booking in a nutshell…kinda summed up by this whole show, no?
Like, a decent amount of exciting or intriguing content. Questionable placement, perhaps…but good stuff.
But then, Lilly’s revenge stuck at the back end, closing the show?
And we barely got any physical involvement out of Alexa Bliss?
I mean, it’s not AEW-botched-explosion levels of bad…yet. However, I’ve been souring on Alexa Bliss running with the old Fiend gimmick, and this week did nothing to help change that feeling.
So…we had quite the mixed RAW In A Nutshell this week. When can fans get their revenge on Lilly?
