Legendary Wrestlers Criticize The WWE For Using Zombies During Backlash

The WWE has been heavily criticized for using zombies during their Backlash pay-per-view. Fans are not the only ones who have criticized the company though, as Chris Jericho and Batista also had something to say.

The WWE took things to a weird kind of level at Backlash. The company decided to incorporate zombies in their programming.

A lumberjack match with zombies was certainly something new. Unfortunately, not everyone was excited about the idea.

Fans were quick to take to social media. After all, wrestling had never been more ridiculous.

But fans were not the only ones who pointed out the gaffe. Legendary wrestler Chris Jericho was also watching.

The G.O.A.T. was quick to point out the implications for the wrestling business. In fact, he claims the match took wrestling back 30 years.

I can’t say I disagree with Jericho really. These zombies had no bearing on the match whatsoever.

Some fans argued that AEW comes up with crazy stuff as well. I wouldn’t say they are wrong, but at least that stuff remains in the fun range.

The WWE has made some creative gaffes in the past. However, this one has got to be the biggest in its entire history.

Zombies is a little out there, even for a lifelong wrestling fan as myself. Who knows, maybe the WWE is trying to promote Batista’s latest film?

Batista Got Targeted By Mistake

Some fans who were unhappy about the zombies at WWE Backlash tweeted Batista. Needless to say, he has little to do with WWE’s creative process right now.

A small portion of fans believed Batista was responsible for the zombie invasion. After all, this would be a strong nod to his latest movie.

Batista responded to the fan in question. Needless to say, he had nothing to do with the “zombies.”

Other wrestling fans were quite amused Batista got tweeted. Unfortunately, Batista was not of that opinion.

Batista has been away from the wrestling circuit for a while focusing on his acting career.

Since leaving wrestling, Batista featured in numerous movies. Of course, one of his bigger roles was that of Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy.

More recently, Batista captured a role in Army of the Dead. So, it is easy to see how the fan got confused.

Wrestling fans are some of the most passionate fans in the world. Of course, this does not make it easier to be a wrestling star.

Batista did see the bright side in it.

Interestingly, Batista was supposed to be inducted in the Hall of Fame this year. However, he wants to be inducted in front of a live audience.

Batista is likely to be inducted in 2022.

Are you looking forward to Batista’s induction? And what did you think about the WWE zombies?
