Thomas Markle Defends Royals After Meghan’s Interview With Oprah

Meghan Markle attempted to settle a number of scores in her interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The senior royals aren’t able to publicly combat her accusations, but her dad Thomas Markle sat down for an interview with Piers Morgan to speak his truth on the matter and spill some tea by defending the Royal Family. 

It’s no secret that Meghan Markle has given her father the boot since marrying Prince Harry.

Her very battle with her father’s side of the family spilled over into the press, much like what she and and Harry are currently doing with his family.

Meghan’s estranged father made that point in his “Good Morning Britain” interview. 

Thomas Markle Was Ill Prepared For Media Onslaught

Thomas denies that he “betrayed” Meghan as she claimed to Oprah.

He was not prepared with how to handle the media onslaught after his daughter became engaged to Prince Harry.

Thomas had some missteps given the fact that he had no guidance.

He claims he has apologized one hundred times over for striking a deal with paparazzi to photograph him and always would welcome his daughter back into his life.

Thomas said that he hasn’t spoken with his daughter since before the wedding when he contacted her to say she was in the hospital after having a heart attack and a heart procedure.

He reports that Harry played the I told you so card to his ailing soon-to-be father-in-law. 

“Harry had said to me if you had listened to me, this wouldn’t have happened to you,” Markle said. “Me, laying in a hospital bed after a having procedure, I had a stent put here and put here [points at his heart] and that was kind of snotty so I hung up on him.”

But, Harry’s history with the press hasn’t been stellar. 

Thomas Markle took a dig at Harry by saying, “We all make mistakes – but I’ve never played naked pool or dressed like Hitler like Harry did.”

Thomas Doesn’t Believe Royals Are Racist

Meghan’s father said that he doesn’t believe a member of the Royal Family asking about the color of Archie’s skin is racist.

In fact, he believes it was likely a “dumb question.”

In the tweeted video below, he continued that he doesn’t believe the Royals are racist, but he does believe California is.

Meghan Markle Has “Ghosted” Both Sides Of Her Family

Thomas Markle told “Good Morning Britain” that his daughter has “pretty much ghosted” both sides of her family.

She alienated herself from them, but her father will always welcome her back.

Only 70 miles separates Meghan and her father.

Heartbreakingly, he has never even met his grandson Archie yet.

Given Meghan’s isolation from her father and now her in-laws, a reunion with her family does not appear to be a priority.
