Meghan Markle interview with Oprah Piers Morgan

On Sunday night, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey aired.

During the interview, they played the victims like it was their job, with Meghan claiming that she was hit with racism during her time as a royal.

She also said she felt so isolated that she became suicidal at one point during her pregnancy with Archie.

Piers Morgan Blasts Meghan And Harry

British television personality Piers Morgan, however, was not having any of it.

On Monday morning, he did not hesitate to blast Meghan and Harry for what he saw as a “disgraceful betrayal” of the Queen.

“They’ve trashed [Harry’s] dad, they’ve trashed his brother, they’ve trashed his sister-in-law. They’ve trashed everything the Queen has worked so hard for and we’re supposed to believe they’re compassionate?” Morgan said on “Good Morning Britain,” according to The Independent.

Morgan even let his thoughts be known on Twitter, writing, “This interview is an absolutely disgraceful betrayal of the Queen and the Royal Family.”

“I expect all this vile destructive self-serving nonsense from Meghan Markle – but for Harry to let her take down his family and the Monarchy like this is shameful,” he added.

‘I Wouldn’t Believe Meghan Markle If She Gave Me A Weather Report’

As for Meghan’s claims about racism and feeling suicidal, Morgan tweeted, “I wouldn’t believe Meghan Markle if she gave me a weather report.”

Though Meghan made a point of saying in the interview that the Queen has “always been wonderful” to her, Morgan still felt that the duchess was disrespecting the monarch.

“Let’s be clear: Prince Harry and his wife just spent two hours trashing everything the Queen stands for & has worked so hard to maintain, whilst pretending to support her,” he tweeted. “And they did it while her 99yr-old husband Philip is seriously ill in hospital. It’s contemptible.”

Serena Williams Praises Her Friend

Though Morgan was no fan of the interview, others voiced their support for Meghan.

Tennis superstar Serena Williams, a close friend of Meghan’s, took to Twitter after the interview. She praised her “selfless friend” who “teaches me every day what it means to be truly noble.”

“Her words illustrate the pain and cruelty she’s experienced,” Williams added. “I know first hand the sexism and racism institutions and the media use to vilify women and people of colour to minimise us, to break us down and demonise us.”

“We must recognise our obligation to decry malicious, unfounded gossip and tabloid journalism,” she wrote. “The mental health consequences of systemic oppression and victimisation are devastating, isolating and all too often lethal.”

“I want Meghan’s daughter, my daughter and your daughter to live in a society that is driven by respect,” she concluded. “Keep in your memory the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

The interview came one year after Meghan and Harry shocked the world by stepping down as senior royals and moving across the world to Southern California.

They have since signed lucrative multi-million dollar deals to create content for Netflix and Spotify.

That makes it a bit difficult to feel too bad for them, despite their constant need to play the victim.
