Dad Of Officer Killed By Colorado Shooter Opposes Gun Control Push In His Son’s Name

Boulder Police Officer Eric Talley lost his life at this week’s mass shooting when a man open fired at a grocery store killing 10 people including Officer Talley.

President Biden and fellow Democrats are using the tragedy to push for gun control.

But, Talley’s family is saying hold up as the slain officer was a Second Amendment advocate and would never want his name associated with gun control.

Eric Talley was an 11-year veteran of the Boulder Police Department and a father of seven.

The community and his family have been left with a great loss because of his murder. And, Talley’s father doesn’t want that made worse by using the tragedy for stricter gun control.

Eric Talley Supported The Second Amendment

TMZ spoke with the slain cop’s father Homer Talley.

The grieving father reports that his son owned an AR-15 and he would not want the weapon banned. He used it for target practice.

Talley’s dad doesn’t believe gun control would have saved his son’s life. Obviously, the shooter clearly didn’t respect the laws that are currently on the books.

Having more restrictive measures would only infringe on the rights of law abiding citizens.

He does not want his son used as an excuse to grab guns.

“My son would have been deeply offended to know his death would be used to promote gun control,” Homer Talley told TMZ. “Before he was an officer, he enjoyed shooting.”

President Biden appears to be dismissing the Talley family’s concerns and is plunging forward with his gun control objectives.

“You can’t take away enough guns to protect this country.”

Homer Talley says Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa’s mass shooting was “a senseless act and that is just it. The situation [Eric] found himself in wasn’t one that the government could protect him from.”

“Just because some wacko goes around shooting people doesn’t mean guns need to be taken away,” Talley’s father continued. “You can’t take away enough guns to protect this country.”

Colorado already has strict gun control measures that President Biden is pushing for nationally.

The fact is plain and simple. Those measure didn’t work to stop the Syrian native from shooting up a supermarket. Nationalizing those laws won’t help.

Talley said about his son, “He was looking for a job to keep himself off of the front lines and was learning to be a drone operator. He didn’t want to put his family through something like this and he believed in Jesus Christ.”

Homer Talley’s message about his son must be heard, but politicians like Joe Biden won’t let a good crisis to go to waste.

A GoFundMe for Officer Eric Talley’s family has raised over $600,000.
