Bayley Rib Goes Wrong, Edge Pursues Daniel Bryan In Ironman Match

A rib planned by Bayley went wrong at the Royal Rumble, leaving for some laughter and anger all around. Also, Edge vs. Daniel Bryan in an Iron Man Match is something “The R Superstar” wants.

Bayley Rib Goes Wrong

With WWE’s hectic schedule, superstars need an outlet to vent. There are only so many options, but ribbing has been around for at least a few decades in pro wrestling.  

Messing with a coworker can help make those long days or even weeks feel like less of a hassle. At the Royal Rumble, Bayley planned to rib Michael Cole.

While the former SmackDown Women’s Champion carried out the plan, there was a major issue. Bayley was under the impression Cole would call the Women’s Royal Rumble Match, which was not the case.

During After The Bell, Corey Graves revealed how Bayley told him she was shaving “COLE” into the back her head. Graves said nothing and Bayley went forward with the prank.

“So, we were in the barbershop that is at the ThunderDome earlier in the day and I’m getting my hair lined up and my beard taken care of,” said Graves. “Bayley walked in and she started asking what she should put in the back of her hair.” 

“It’s been a thing she’s been doing recently. She actually suggested the name Cole.”

“I said, ‘Yea, I think it’s a great idea. I think it’s going to be really funny;  it’s going to be downright hysterical. I can’t wait to see his face when he realizes what you did.’” 

A Problem Arises In The Rib

Then, Graves learned Cole would not be calling the Women’s Rumble Match. At that point, Graves went about his business and forgot about Bayley’s plan.

“About three hours later, I got a text from Cole and it’s a photo of him and Bayley and a reminder that Cole was not calling the women’s Royal Rumble match. I did know that but I didn’t realize it at the time. It didn’t register.” 

“We had a full-blown conversation about how hilarious it would be and even I forgot that Cole was not going to be ringside. So, I encouraged Bayley to shave Michael Cole’s name into the back of her head basically for no one’s entertainment but my own.”

“Bayley was none too thrilled with that.” 

As for the Rumble match, Bayley drew one of the worst numbers with one. Although, she lasted over 29 minutes while recording one elimination.

While Cole was not ringside, I am sure he watched the match from the back. And if he did not spot his name shaped into the back of Bayley’s head, she likely found him and showed off the design.

Edge Pursues Daniel Bryan In Ironman Match

Edge won the Men’s 2021 Royal Rumble Match and gets to pick his title shot at WrestleMania 37. He has teased challenging all three brands, with SmackDown’s Roman Reigns being the front-runner.

Even though he has a huge opportunity in about two months, Edge is looking into the future. He wants an Ironman Match with Daniel Bryan.

“I’d love to do an Ironman with Daniel Bryan,” said Edge to CBS Sports. “There’s just so much talent I would love to get in with.” 

“It’s just really fun for me because I see them get wide-eyed because we’re having this cool, special moment, and I want more of those.”

Edge’s contract only has him wrestling a few times per year, but a match with Bryan would be worth it. Bryan can wrestle for hours, but you have to wonder if Edge can do the same.

Besides wrestling, both superstars also work backstage in WWE. They are being used to help creative, with Bryan getting lots of praise for helping lower-tier talent gain attention.
