Shane McMahon May Become RAW’s Lead Writer, WWE Push Done

WWE is always changing things and that could mean Shane McMahon will be the new lead writer for RAW. Also, WWE had major plans for Riddick Moss before COVID-19, but his push could resume thanks to RAW Underground.

Shane McMahon Taking On Big WWE Role

Shane McMahon is believed to be among those in the running to take over as lead writer on RAW.

Bruce Pritchard has handled both RAW and SmackDown duties since replacing Paul Heyman. McMahon recently returned with RAW Underground to the program.

“One source in WWE has told me Shane is being considered to take RAW off Bruce Pritchard’s hands leaving him to concentrate on SmackDown,” Alex McCarthy of Talk Sport reported. “Another layer to the story is Pritchard making no secret about the fact he’d like to lighten his workload and he’s been struggling with the long hours.”

The 57-year-old Pritchard is a Senior Vice President and holds the title of Executive Director for both shows. In June, WWE officials removed Heyman from his role and placed Pritchard in control

Pritchard has been on-air previously as the Brother Love character. He made a cameo during the 2020 Money in the Bank event as the former manager.

McMahon shifted to a backstage producer in 2019 and returned to television in August with RAW Underground. Using a spin off the film “Fight Club,” RAW Underground is set as an unsanctioned event.

Over the years, the 50-year-old McMahon has played numerous roles within the WWE. He has competed several times inside the ring and was also the commissioner of SmackDown a few years back.

WWE Push Done

Riddick Moss was in for a big push prior to the coronavirus pandemic striking.

Moss made his return to the WWE as part of RAW Underground. He was the WWE 24/7 champion when the decision was made to stay away from the promotion because of COVID-19.

Moss’ brother has cystic fibrosis and the two live together. That put him at high risk of getting the virus, and WWE officials had no problem allowing him to take the time off, according to Fightful Select.

The 30-year-old Moss made his wrestling debut in 2014. He previously played football, competing for the Minnesota Golden Gophers from 2008-12 and attending a tryout for the NFL Miami Dolphins.

When that did not work out, Moss reached out to Jim Ross about joining the WWE. He signed a developmental deal in 2014 and made his debut at the end of the year as part of WWE NXT.

Moss made his RAW debut in January, joining Mojo Rawley for a match with No Way Jose over the 24/7 title. He turned on Rawley following a tag match in February and claimed the belt himself.

Then, he disappeared from TV without any word from WWE. A few months passed before Moss returned and he was featured in a much different role.

In his return to television, Moss scored a victory via knockout over Cal Bloom on Shane McMahon’s RAW Underground. Later, he kept that streak going by getting the better of Dolph Ziggler on Monday’s episode.
