Daniel Bryan Edge Creative

Two new additions to join WWE creative are superstars Daniel Bryan and Edge. Also, a huge gimmick match is already being discussed for WrestleMania 37.

Daniel Bryan & Edge Join Creative

WWE creative is always changing, especially is recent months. With WWE cutting 40% of their staff, many names were let go.

While we have lost some employees, a pair of legends have been given some new responsibilities. Apparently, Edge and Daniel Bryan have been helping out in the creative process.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it noted how both are seen as members of WWE creative. Also, they are not simply passing some ideas around as they have “significant creative influence.”

WWE made drastic changes to the writing process in recent months. When Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff held the roles of Executive Directors for RAW and SmackDown, they were there to help with the workload.

Instead, Bischoff only lasted a few months on SmackDown before Bruce Prichard took his spot. Then, Heyman was removed from his position.

Therefore, everything goes to Bruce Prichard, who then hands off the content to Vince McMahon. At this point, McMahon makes the final calls to the script.

The WWE careers of Edge and Bryan have been a similar rollercoaster. Due to neck and concussion problems, they were forced into retirement.

Eventually, both were medically cleared and can again work inside a WWE ring.

Bryan has not been seen too much since the COVID-19 pandemic. His wife, Brie Bella, is expecting their second child in about two weeks and Bryan was likely granted time off to be his growing family.

Following nine years away, Edge returned to WWE at the Royal Rumble. Since then, he has traded wins with Randy Orton and is currently out with a torn bicep.

Rumored WrestleMania 37 Match

The infamous Chris Benoit match spot

There is still about eight months until WrestleMania 37, but there are many questions about the event. Typically, WWE likes to have already secured a few of their top matches.

Although, COVID-19 has caused the company to change their pace. Instead of looking months in advance, they are taking things one pay per view at a time.

For WrestleMania 36, Edge defeated Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing Match. At Backlash, Orton repaid the favor by winning the Greatest Wrestling Match Ever.

As mentioned above, in the process of their second meeting, Edge was inured. As a result, he could be out until early next year.

Originally, the feud was supposed to end at SummerSlam. With that idea needing to be scrapped, the match looks likes it will take place at WrestleMania 37.

The current idea is for the trilogy to conclude in an I Quit Match according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Also, the report stated the gimmick was initially intended for SummerSlam before plans changed.

To add even more depth to the storyline, there is chance the WWE Championship will also be decided. While not official, WWE has been looking to book Orton vs. Drew McIntyre as the main event of SummerSlam.

Orton is on fire right now and deserves a title run. At the same time, WWE also wants to give McIntyre another reign, but this time with live fans to help the moment pop.

WrestleMania 37 is scheduled for March 28 from the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. A major problem is the stadium’s construction was paused due to the virus.

There is strong possibly WWE will have to find another venue. Worst case scenario, fans see another WrestleMania out of the Performance Center in Florida.
