A crisis can change someone’s way of thinking. That’s what happened to thrash metal drummer Will Carroll of Death Angel. While battling coronavirus, the metalhead was in a coma where says he went to hell and saw the devil. Now, this hard core rocker says he understands the importance of prayer and is making changes in his life.
Will Carroll Got Coronavirus While Touring In Europe With Death Angel
Carroll and other members of his longtime band Death Angel got coronavirus while on a European tour.
They were on a month’s long tour overseas with other San Francisco bands when some of the crew started developing symptoms.
For a while it seemed as though the virus would cost the 47-year-old drummer his life.

Coronavirus Lands Will Carroll In Medically Induced Coma
Carroll began to feel symptoms of coronavirus on the flight home from Europe. The hard living rocker had no idea at the time what a serious fight he had ahead.
When he got home, instead of telling his fiancee about the tour, Carroll went right to bed and stayed there for five days.
On the sixth day, he developed a fever and went to the hospital. His fever was 102.6 and the drummer had several liters of fluid in his lungs from COVID-19.

The hard-living rocker, known for listening to Satanic music, was in for the fight of his life.
COVID-19 landed Carroll in the ICU where he was hooked up to a ventilator for twelve days.
Prayer Pulls Rocker Closer To God
Carroll’s story feels like one of those modern day miracles. While on the ventilator, the musician experienced the horror of being in hell in a literal sense.
When Carroll woke up, he knew he had to make changes to his life.

While in the coma, Carroll said he had dreams of visiting the afterlife. He saw himself leave his body and plummet down to hell, where Satan — a woman in his case — punished him for the deadly sin of sloth, morphing him into a Jabba the Hutt-like-monster who vomited blood until he had a heart attack.
“I woke up on the hospital bed with tubes coming in and out of me, and there was a nurse right there and my first words were, ‘Am I still in hell?’ ” Carroll said. “She ignored me.”
Carroll, who celebrated his 47th birthday on Wednesday, May 13, said his near-death experience gave him a new outlook on life. He now plans on living a healthier life without hard alcohol or bong rips, though he’ll still drink the occasional hard cider and narrow his marijuana use to edibles. He also adopted a belief in a higher power; he feels the prayers from his family and friends helped him pull through.
Prayer does amazing things and in this case, it not only helped save Will Carroll’s life, but possibly his afterlife as well.
