Carol Burnett Discusses Her Life In Coronavirus Quarantine – Reveals The Toughest Part

Carol Burnett may be a legendary comedian with millions of fans from all over the globe, but right now, she’s living in coronavirus quarantine like all the rest of us. In a new interview, Burnett got candid about what life is like for her in self-isolation, and she also revealed what the toughest part has been for her.

Carol Burnett’s Daily Coronavirus Quarantine Routine

Burnett, 86, told The Hollywood Reporter that even in quarantine, she keeps the same routine every day.

“I get up in the morning, make the bed, have breakfast and feed the cat,” she said. “I have a treadmill, so I walk about a half hour to 45 minutes every day. We live in a gated community and it’s possible for us to go out, take a walk and any neighbors we see, we wave and social distance.”

The former “The Carol Burnett Show” star went on to say that even in the era of social distancing, she still finds ways to socialize with neighbors.

“When some of our friends go for walks, they call us to say they’re in the neighborhood,” Burnett explained.

“We open the door and have a meeting on the driveway with everyone standing six feet apart. It’s so nice to see other human beings but, you know, it’s a shame we can’t hug them. We’re thinking of bringing some lawn furniture out to put it in the driveway and just have people sit and talk six feet apart.”

Burnett Reveals The Toughest Part Of Quarantine

When asked what the toughest adjustment for her has been, Burnett said that as someone who has always been a people person, the lack of socialization is difficult.

“Not being able to socialize and see my family, that’s tough, but we keep in touch. I talk to my sister and my kids almost every day and everybody’s doing as well as can be expected,” she said.

“I miss seeing friends and I miss going out to dinner or whatever but that’s a small price to pay. And I’ve always been grateful but I’m even more grateful now.”

That being said, Burnett isn’t feeling too sorry for herself, as her thoughts are with first responders and those who are struggling financially right now after losing their jobs.

“My heart goes out to the people who have lost their jobs, and all of the first responders, doctors, and nurses who are putting their lives on the line,” she said. “It’s not much of a sacrifice, at least for me right now, just to sit on the sofa.”

What’s First On Her To-Do List When This Ends

When asked what’s the first thing on her to-do list when this finally ends, Burnett knew exactly what to say.

“I’d like to have a party — break open the champagne, say hallelujah and hug each other,” she said.

We’re so glad that even in this trying time, Carol Burnett is maintaining a positive attitude.

While social distancing is not the most fun thing to do in the world, it’s the only option we have right now, so we might as well make the best of it.

We pray that this comedic legend stays in good health throughout this ordeal, and we can’t wait to pop open some champagne along with her when this is all over!

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
