Former UFC champion Rose Namajunas has removed herself from the upcoming UFC 249 event.
Namajunas was set to meet Jessica Andrade in a rematch on April 18 as the co-main event. The card features Tony Ferguson vs. Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight title.
No official reason has been given from Namajunas for her exit, or an explanation provided by the UFC. Combate was the first to report the change.
Tiago Okamura, the manager for Andrade, informed MMA Fighting that “We’ll fight anyone. Flyweight, bantamweight, featherweight. Whatever it is, we’re in. We won’t go back home without a fight.”
Andrade lost the title to Zhang Weili this past August.
