Donald Trump calls out Prince Harry Meghan Markle on security

President Donald Trump acted swiftly to make it abundantly clear that American taxpayers will not be footing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s security bill after the couple’s recent move to California. This forced the Sussexes to issue a public statement about their security needs and expectations.

Meghxit 2 to Los Angeles

Last week, Harry and Meghan fled Canada as the border with the United States was about to close because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The couple previously stated they would not return to Meghan’s hometown of Los Angeles until President Trump was out of the White House.

But, those plans seemingly fell to the wayside in the face of a global health crisis (and a cushy Disney job for Meghan thanks to husband Harry). Now, the couple will be closer to Meghan’s mother (and an ocean away from the aging Queen).

The move is hypocritical by all accounts and is the just the latest example of this couple’s true colors. Meghan is back in Hollywood where she thinks she belongs, and has Harry as far away from his Royal roots as possible.

The couple’s abrupt relocation to the US raised a lot of eyebrows. The United States does not have a Royal Family. Our country was literally established after breaking from the Crown.

Taxpayer Funded Security

While modern Americans might have interest in the monarchy, it is a bone of contention to many that anyone would consider having American tax dollars used to support the Royal Family.

Meghan and Harry are used to having protection from the Metropolitan Police. So their sudden move to the Golden State complicates that.

We all face economic uncertainty thanks to so many businesses be shuttered during the coronavirus crisis. The thought of paying for Harry and Meghan’s security costs at any time, especially when American citizens are hurting, is inconceivable.

Upon learning about Harry and Meghan’s relocation to California, President Trump took to Twitter to set the record straight. The American Windsors are on their own and will not get a security bailout from our taxpayers.

“I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom,” President Trump tweeted. “It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada. Now they have left Canada for the U.S. however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!”

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Respond To Trump’s Tweet

Trump’s sharp rebuke of Harry and Meghan caused their spokesperson to issue a hasty statement. The couple claims they will not pursue American taxpayer-funded security.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have no plans to ask the U.S. Government for security resources,” a Sussex spokesperson told ET on Sunday after the President’s tweet. “Privately funded security arrangements have been made.

BOOM! We have a health and financial crisis right now. There should be no reason for anyone to expect Americans to subsidize the Royal Family.

Harry left his Grandma’s kingdom and he needs to realize he is now responsible for his own family.
