Aaron Rodgers Mocking Christians Is A ‘Slap In The Face’ To His Family

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers took a swipe at Christianity and people of faith in a recent podcast with his girlfriend, former professional race car driver, Danica Patrick. The professional football player is getting a lot of pushback from fans – and also from his family. After all, Rodgers was raised in a Christian home.

We don’t have to give our opinion on everything. This is a lesson that Aaron Rodgers hasn’t learned yet. In making what is almost mocking remarks, the former Super Bowl MVP alienated plenty of Packers fans.

Many people of faith live in Wisconsin. They won’t take well to having their belief system criticized by the quarterback who failed to lead his team to this year’s Super Bowl. As a matter of fact, the Green Bay Packers lost handily to the San Francisco 49ers.

Rodgers’ words come at a time when Christian NFL quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes are enjoying tremendous success on the field while also being fan favorites. People appreciate when celebrities stay humble in the face of fame. That doesn’t seem to be Rodgers’ style.

Aaron Rodgers Mocks Christians

“I don’t know how you can believe in a God who wants to condemn most of the planet to a fiery hell,” Rodgers said in the podcast. “What type of loving, sensitive, omnipresent, omnipotent being wants to condemn his beautiful creation to a fiery hell at the end of all this?”

Rodgers didn’t just stop there. He then stated in a derogatory fashion that people are religious just so they can “feel better” about themselves.

“Religion can be a crutch,” Rodgers whined in his interview. “It can be something that people have to have to make themselves feel better. Because it’s set up binary, it’s us and them, saved and unsaved, heaven and hell, it’s enlightened and heathen, it’s holy and righteous…that makes a lot of people feel better about themselves.”

Rodgers is not forced to believe in God, but there certainly isn’t a need for him to mock those who do. He has chosen to thumb his nose at the faithful and attempt to brand them as idiots.

Aaron Rodgers’ Family Troubles

In addition to alienating himself from God, Aaron Rodgers has alienated himself from his own family. The rift has gone public, even spilling onto Twitter.

In 2018, the quarterback asked his Twitter followers to donate money for recovery efforts for fires that affected his parents. His brother pointed out that while Aaron was asking others to donate, he himself couldn’t even be bothered to call his own parents to see if they were safe.

Fox News reports that Aaron Rodgers’ words left a stinging mark on those who raised him, according to a family insider.

“They were dismayed,” the family friend said. “To them, his comments are basically a slap in the face to the fundamentals of who they are.”

“It’s basically him turning his back on everything they have taught him,” the insider continued.

Aaron Rodgers’ callous remarks highlight that he is likely missing something from his life. If the superstar quarterback was content with everything, he wouldn’t need to demean others for their beliefs.

Perhaps that hole developed when he turned his back on God and those who believe in Him. Rodgers seems to be the one in need of our prayers.
