Planned NXT TakeOver: WarGames Match Now Off
Initial plans for NXT TakeOver: WarGames was to have the returning Finn Balor take on Johnny Gargano.
TakeOver: WarGames is still being planed even though NXT will have a key face on WWE Survivor Series the same weekend in Chicago.
According to several reports, Gargano is dealing with a neck injury and will not be cleared or ready to compete next weekend vs. Balor. The decision has been made to keep Gargano off live events until he is fully ready to go.
Full honesty.. I’m really proud of our team but sitting back and watching the NXT crew represent on RAW and Smackdown from the sidelines has been hard.
My silver lining was the hope I had that I’d be able to make it back for TakeOver.. but that’s not the case.
I’m heartbroken. https://t.co/CF7hgv3xw1

No surgery is needed for Gargano, but there also is not timetable for his possible return.
I’m sorry to everyone that bought tickets to meet me this weekend. It truly breaks my heart not to be able to make it but I’m fortunate I have people willing to put my health first in this crappy situation..
