Jon Moxley Injured, NXT Deal Worth Up To $70 Million Per Year

AEW’s Jon Moxley Possibly Injured In Japan

Jon Moxley has everything going for him right now, but the former WWE superstar is dealing with an injury that could force him to miss some of the upcoming shows for All Elite Wrestling.

According to a report by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Moxley possibly got “an infection in Japan” during a recent tour overseas. The 33-year-old appeared to be careful not to bump his elbow during an August match vs. Pentagon Jr. at Northeast Wrestling, a clear sign of an injury to the area.

Moxley has stated he can work through the pain, which AEW most definitely is hoping is true as they prepare for upcoming TNT television tapings. He is scheduled to face off against Kenny Omega at All Out on August 31 from the Sears Centre Arena just outside Chicago, Illinois.

During his run with the WWE, Moxley became the 27th Triple Crown champion and 16th Grand Slam winner for the promotion. He has competed for New Japan and AEW since, adding the IWGP United States title to his resume to become the first and only wrestler to wear both the WWE and IWGP U.S. championships.

WWE NXT Deal With USA Network Rumored To Generate Between $30-70 Million Per Year

According to various outlets the amount of money WWE for NXT will generate in revenue has ranked anywhere between $30 million and $70 million per year on the USA Network.

NXT is set to debut on USA Network September 18 with a landmark event airing at 8 p.m. ET.

David Karnovsky, an analyst with JP Morgan, reported that the deal between USA Network and the WWE for NXT is could generate about $70 million per year, according to MarketWatch. The news of the deal helped raise the overall stock for the WWE.

“On its face the news is a positive, especially if the company is able to sell ‘NXT’ at rates similar to its flagship ‘Raw’ and ‘SmackDown’ programs,” Karnovsky said.

Guggenheim Securities analyst Curry Baker has set a much lower number, stating the number is more likely around $30 million per year. As previously reported, Dave Meltzer has put a $50 million price tag on the amount per year for NXT on USA Network.

WWE introduced NXT in February 2012, holding shows in Orlando early on. Since, though, there have been both national and international tours, with the promotion helping produce several top stars including Bray Wyatt, Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins
