Possible WrestleMania Main Event Clue + Dean Ambrose At RAW

-Everyone knows that the women’s triple threat match is the main event for this year’s WrestleMania.

It was rumored last week, and ultimately confirmed last night by Stephanie McMahon, that the match is now “winner take all”. This means the woman who wins, walks out with two titles, thanks to Charlotte’s unexpected win over Asuka last week on SmackDown.

Now, according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, we have an inkling of who is expected to win on Sunday.

Many fans want Becky Lynch to win. Fans have been behind her since last summer. In spite of WWE’s best efforts to get Lynch over as a heel, fans wouldn’t buy in. Fans overwhelmingly love the Irish Lass Kicker, and per Meltzer, WWE is set to crown her as the first woman to hold both championships simultaneously.

Yes, this is WWE, and yes, they’ve changed plans at the last minute before (including that SmackDown Women’s Championship change last week), but for now it appears fans should be going home from New Jersey happy on Sunday.

-By now, much has been written about Dean Ambrose. The RAW Superstar made headlines earlier this year when it was learned that he was not re-signing with WWE. Ambrose’s contract officially expires after WrestleMania.

Fans had suspected that Ambrose might actually be re-signing once WWE started openly discussing the contract status on-air (something the company typically does not do for an exiting Superstar). However, to this point, in spite of the company’s efforts, Ambrose has not re-upped.

Last night may have been Ambrose’s final RAW with the company. He was not seen on live television, but did make an appearance after RAW went off the air. Ambrose came out, gave Baron Corbin a Dirty Deeds DDT, posed for the crowd and exited. Numerous fans posted reports to social media, as seen below.

Ambrose is not booked for Sunday’s WrestleMania, so it will be interesting to see if he gets involved at all, or if we see him on WWE television again.

John Deegan

Introduced to professional wrestling in the 1980's thanks to Superstars and Saturday Night's Main Event, John's passion for the medium was reborn thanks to ECW in the 90's. A former in-ring "talent" with a career 0-2 record, he finds it more rewarding, and far less painful, to write about wrestling now.
