Kurt Angle Unhappy About Mania Loss, Bobby Lashley – MMA Return

– Kurt Angle took part in a Q&A on Facebook and several questions revolved around WrestleMania 35 and the future. At WrestleMania 35, Angle wrestled in what was billed as his retirement match. He lost to Baron Corbin, who many fans did not want to see get that spot. Angle seemed to somewhat agree as he would have liked to change his retirement match.

“I would have liked to go out with a win, but I understand why it didn’t occur,” said Angle. “Many people believe that I should have had a different opponent. Maybe; maybe not. But, my argument as to why it should have been Corbin is pretty strong. As a legend or HOFer,  my job is to leave the WWE by doing the honors for a younger talent. I did that. I would have loved to have won, but I don’t think I would have properly played my role if I did. You leave the company better than it was before you came.”

The following night on RAW, Angle was attacked by a debuting Lars Sullivan. Angle has stated that he not leaving WWE; he’s only retired from in-ring competition. He has talked about working with talent in NXT and also having some on-air roles in WWE.

– At 42 years old, Bobby Lashley still has interest in returning to MMA. The WWE superstar seems to have late summer penciled in as a possible MMA return date.

“I feel great,” said Lashley to Sky Sports. “My body is 100%, so I think maybe this summer; maybe after SummerSlam.”

Lashley also revealed that he is still under contract to Bellator, which is easily the number two MMA promotion in the United States. He has his eyes set on Ryan Bader, who is the current Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight Champion.

“I think I am still probably going to do a couple more before it’s all said and done,” said Lashley. “I am still under contract at Bellator. And if I go back, I will give them a call and possibly go after Bader. I don’t want to wait too long; time is ticking.”

The way Lashley spoke, it is unclear if his WWE contract ends this summer or if the company would make an exception like they do for Brock Lesnar.

Lashley is 15-2 in MMA and last competed in October 2016. He has fought in known companies such as Bellator, Strikeforce and Titan FC. Lashley has won his last eight fights, stopping seven of them within two rounds.
