Familiar Name Joins WWE Creative, Kofi Kingston’s Title Match

– There has been a new addition to the WWE creative team and it is familiar face. Dana Warrior, wife of the late WWE Hall of Famer the Ultimate Warrior, was present for this week’s set of TV according to Pro Wresting Sheet.

As of now, her role is only temporary, but WWE could keep her around if they like what is happening in storylines. Dana’s position is to give the creative team a female perspective. Considering how much WWE has changed the female’s division over the past several years, it makes sense to bring in more women for their input.

Days after being inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2014, the Ultimate Warrior passed away from heart disease. Since then, Dana had been working as an ambassador for WWE. She started the Warrior Award, which is given out during the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony to someone (not directly involved in wrestling) who “exhibited unwavering strength and perseverance, and who lives life with the courage and compassion that embodies the indomitable spirit of the Ultimate Warrior.”  Past recipients include Jarrius “JJ” Robertson, Eric LeGrand, Joan Lunden and Connor “The Crusher” Michalek.

– Kofi Kingston pushed Daniel Bryan to the limit at the Elimination Chamber and nearly won the WWE Championship. Despite not leaving with the gold, fans starting campaigning for Kingston to get a singles title shot at WrestleMania 35. WWE booked Kingston vs. Bryan for Fastlane, but Vince McMahon would interrupt their contract signing on this week’s SmackDown to reveal that a returning Kevin Owens was now getting the title match.

Post Wrestling noted that McMahon decided last week that Owens would take Kington’s spot at Fastlane. There seems to be more to the story with speculation that the WWE Championship match could turn into a triple threat and/or Kingston will still get another chance at the belt come WrestleMania 35.

Some are comparing Kingston’s current push to the one Bryan received leading up to WrestleMania XXX. At that time, WWE did not see Bryan main eventing the show but the fans would not give up. Of course, Bryan left with the gold and maybe now it is time for Kingston to take that spot.
