Former WWE superstar Alex Riley has been raising some eyebrows this week, as he threatened John Cena and Stephanie McMahon in a series of bizarre Instagram posts. The tensions between Cena and Riley has been well-documented in the past, but Riley has now taken things to a new level.
Since leaving the WWE, Alex Riley has held a grudge against John Cena and management in general. His recent Instagram posts seem to prove that the grudge has not disappeared.
While it is not uncommon for wrestlers to play a character on their social media and call out other wrestlers or wrestling personas, Riley has taken things too far. His recent posts made the news, and it’s clear why.
During recent years, Riley’s posts have gone from weird to outright bizarre. In some of his most recent posts, he even mentions some bible passages and references to the book of Revelation.
One of the recent Instagram posts Riley made stated:
“I am not coming back @johncena I am coming for everything you have an hold dear 2 you see me know!!!! #RicFlairdR.I.P. Revelation 6:9 @krisjamesedwardkiley #JesusChrist”
In another strange social media message, Riley also addressed Stephanie McMahon:
“IF YOU’RE READING THIS ITS TOO LATE STEPHANIE MCMAHON! I pulled back the curtain by myself take a look you will SEE #DNADRIP”
The messages posted on Instagram are weird to say the least. Nobody really knows what Riley is talking about. While there is tension between Cena and Riley, the messages do seem a little out of this world.
The story between Riley and Cena goes back a long way. After he was released by the WWE, Riley claimed Cena was the reason why his career went nowhere in the WWE.
Riley spoke out about the problems with John Cena on The Ross Report, Jim Ross‘ podcast. While he did not go into a lot of detail, his story was backed up by Ryback on the same podcast.
After the recent social media posts, there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that the story between Riley and Cena will be raked up again. While it is unlikely we will ever know what happened, some things might come to light in years to come.
